I've had multiple people that have finished year 12 put in their grades and it be COMPLETLY off with only 1 person saying it came out in the ballpark of their score. So take this calc with a grain of salt :)
Yeah, just checked the calc for what someone would need for a 40 in English.

100% in Sacs + 35/60 (58%) said 40.

You would most likely need 10 more exam marks for that.

I know someone with 100% SACs and I think around a 38/60 who got a raw 40, but it would depend on the year too I think. Since English is 50% SACs, if they don't scale down they can carry you pretty hard.

Which means those who cheat on English SACs will reap rewards because even if they perform at their normal “average” ability on the exam, SACs will save them :(

Hey Everyone! I currently have straight 81s in all of my Biology SACs in unit 3 and so far , 4. We're currently about to do online SACs if I do manage to keep holding on to an A average or even get an A+ would I still be able to get a 45 + raw study score?

it depends on where you're ranked in your cohort and for a 45 I'm pretty sure you would need all A+. If you do great on the final exam your SACs can also scale up to A+ as well.  All the best  :D

I have no clue WHERE you got this interpretation from, but if someone "cheats" in an exam, their mark is forcibly changed to as low as 0. Doesn't matter how well you did in your SACs if you're only getting 50% of your total marks. To put this in perspective, in 2017, one student decided to keep writing despite being told to stop. Their grade was reduced by a whole letter/plus thingy - that's potentially 15/60 marks gone - and that was for as simple as writing another sentence.

Look, 45+ might not be possible - keep in mind that last year, an 81 got you a B+ mark for your Biology SACs, and that a third of students got a B+ or higher. That doesn't mean that's what will happen this year, but these things tend to have a trend that doesn't get bucked quite that drastically from year to year. But it's still worth working hard and trying to get the best score you can.

Biology

U3: 87/100
U4: 72/90 (80%)

Exam: 100/120

Chemistry
U3: 73/100
U4: 72/90 (80%)
Exam: 95/120

English
U3: 78/100
U4: 56/70 (80%)
Exam: 50/60

**all these SAC marks are raw the school I go to has a median ss of 33 so I’m not sure if SACs will scale for the english.

If you're above the median, you'll probably find your SACs will scale up slightly - THIS IS NO GUARANTEE. DO NOT TAKE THIS AS A GUARANTEE. IF YOU DO, YOU'LL PROBABLY BE DISAPPOINTED. So, I'm going to do this on the assumption that your SAC marks don't change. Note that the first three numbers are essentially a conversion of your score for each bit to a study score based on last year's data.

Biology: 37-34-41 = 39 ---> I predict anywhere between 36 and 42
Chemistry: 31-33-41 = 37 -> I predict anywhere between 34 and 40
English: 36-35-43 = 39 ----> I predict anywhere between 36 and 42

Hey keltingmeith! I admire how much you contribute to the community  :D

About 81 getting B+ for Bio, isn't that his raw so it only determines his ranking? Isn't it the scaled version that contributes towards the study score?

Yeah, 81 is just raw so is a lot less useful than someone's rankings. I can't really say anything specficallly with regards to ErnieTheBirdi but I have seen that Biology tends to be notorious for difficult sacs (obviously not all schools so it will depend on their sac difficulty/rank). It is not uncommon for even rank 1 in biology for some schools to be in the mid-80s and then scaling to the 90s/100.

See Sine's comment - if I don't have the rankings or what level the school is, all I can assume is that the mark I'm told is the mark they'll get for SACs. I probably should have clarified, but I was in a bit of a rush, sorry.

Spesh: Unit 3 - 86% raw (ranking somewhere in top 10) | Unit 4 - predicting 85-90% | Exam 1 - assume i drop 5 and Exam 2 - assume i drop 12
Physics: Unit 3 - 93% raw (ranking somewhere in top 10) | Unit 4 - predicting 90-95% | Exam - assume i drop 8-10

I mean - high. Your study score will be high - particularly if you think those ranked above you will get a similar score or higher in the exam. Not much point using my usual method, it's not as accurate for scores on the extreme ends. Dropping that many marks will probably lock you out of a 50, but you can probably expect around 45 at a guess - I think above 40 is a safe estimate
