how do i fail

I'm rank at computing vce and in AOS1 unit 1, we had two sacs. I redid my first and passed, but haven't even done the second one. I honestly cannot do it, and I feel like it's pointless doing it, considering I'm halfway through area of study 2 unit 1, and will be changing subjects for semester 2. Can I just fail this sac and not do it, or is that not possible

Is there any reason you need this subject? If you genuinely don't need it and don't want it perhaps talk to your teachers and try and get out of it earlier. Also, make sure you really think about why you picked it and why you might want it. Make sure you're not cutting off any options.

If you're totally sure you don't need it, then just fail it. I failed bio last year because i wasn't continuing and frankly couldn't be bothered doing the SAC as I found the content pretty torturous but looking back I kind of wish I just did the redemption to not have nasty N on my official report but, if you're doing well then you're fine.

Orrrrr.... you could adopt a positive mindset and try, if you can't get out of doing the subject. "then just fail it" - accepting this as an attitude/mindset has to be the worst way to prepare yourself for life outside of school. Sure, everybody fails at some stage, but it's how we respond to it that makes the difference. Did you try whatever was thrown at you, to the best of your ability? If so and you still end up not meeting the requirements, then OK. There are redemption processes in place that should then be taken advantage of to receive an S.

If the school is unwilling to withdraw you from the unit and they are making you wait until semester 2, which is the norm in quite a number of cases, then just get through it and try. End it on a good note.

--

My advice to OP would be to see it through until the end of semester 1. Try everything, give it a real good go and if your best isn't good enough, then so be it. But at least you can walk away knowing that you gave it your all and didn't give up.

This says you care - the fact you redid it and ended up passing rather than accepting failure. Keep this up.

Absolutely agree with this.

This was similar to what happened to me back when I was doing U1/2 Economics. I realised about mid-Unit 2 that I didn’t want to continue with it, especially since my scores fluctuated so much that I skimmed a pass in a couple of SACs. I still gave it the same amount of effort though until the end. I ended up getting a solid 90% on the next SAC and I learnt a lot during the rest of that unit. The skills and even occasionally the content I learnt from that last section wound up becoming a part of my financial literacy skills in life. In hindsight, I don’t regret my decision to give Economics the effort.

Moral of the story: Still give it a go, at least with the amount of effort you put in prior to your decision to drop Computing. You never know when that will become handy in the future and you’ll have fewer regrets.

I can see how my answer was probably not the most positive, and I'm not saying it's what I would have done now with the knowledge I have atm and apologize for sounding a bit like a downer. I can totally appreciate that trying is very important in life, was just trying to answer OP's question as honestly as I could. I had plenty of alternate pathways out of bio and it wasn't necessary for me, and definitely wouldn't recommend it in any other case.

If u r planning to drop anyway, then the school wil prob give u the easiest SAC possible to just get u an S and let u move on. It is only year 11 so ur grades don't matter, they just make u retry the SAC until U get that Satisfactory.
"Don't give up, and don't put too much effort into things that don't matter"-Albert Einstein, probably.

Try to pass buddy, I did methods last year and although I failed my SACs I still got an S for the unit.
