Would my assignment receive "fail"

So a few days ago, a forum report for food for a healthy planet (unib10009) was due which was worth (25%) of the mark.

It required you to add a cover page for the report wirh your name, number, word count, submission date. Which i did, however i accidentally (without thinking) added the cover pge template which microsoft word provides to you.. so it had a photograph on it.. and i mistakenly changed the photo to something more suitable.. without any source..

Would the university harshly fail my assignment due to this?

Also, I did not plagirize but there was a 5% similarity on the turnitin submission page. Is this level of similarity fine? (I have not used any external source)

They won't fail you on this. As long as you referenced everything else correctly there shouldn't be a problem (they probably won't notice/care if you haven't referenced the cover photo). The issues they have with referencing is when you write an assignment and take quotes and information from other sources and make no reference to them at all. A simple slip up like forgetting a single reference won't cause any harm.

Similarity depends on what you have in your assignment. I've had 0% similarity and 40% similarity. It depends on what you have referenced (have you used quotes from articles). Sometimes even the citations come up in the similarity.

5% similarity generally wont get an investigation, and an uncredited photo on the cover page of a forum assignment from a first year first sem student almost definitely wont lead to a fail. I think youll be fine. you might lose a mark for it
