[UoM] 2016 Semester 2 Results Thread
« on: November 16, 2016, 02:23:05 pm »
Moderator edit:

Hi. I'm starting/editing this thread so we have a place to discuss Sem 2 results, as some WAM changes have already started coming out, and it's better to centralise the discussion.

Please keep questions about particular units/subjects and the like in the University of Melbourne subforum. Also, a reminder to read this thread regarding results discussion. Above all, we have a zero tolerance policy for negative comments/put-downs for other users, so please use common sense and be respectful.

P.S: Consider adding to the subject reviews thread to help future students.

Hi All,

My WAM updated this morning I'm thinking it was probably CHEM 2 or BIOL Genes and the Evolution of Life - anyone else had theirs update?

I had an update as well. I think mine is Music and Health (MUSI20150).

Lmao somehow forgot about exam results being a thing. o_o

Yeah, my WAM seems to have been updated as of today. It's likely to be OPTO30007 given the exam was over two weeks ago. Either that or EURO10002 since essay submission was almost two weeks ago and the cohort wasn't massive.

WAM change (and results were actually released so I know it was a subject from day 1 of the exam period) and I feel like Hillary Clinton right now.

EDIT: I would just like to apologise in advance for my grades this semester to anyone who thought the trend of the past few semesters was going to continue :')

Can confirm that it's most likely chem 2 (not surprised by the mark if it is).
Otherwise, it would be either or some combination of ESD2, chem 2 and calc 2.
If all else fails, at least I might have a career in tram driving.

Will comment on this one.

At UNSW, I had my last math exam just yesterday. And some people in the math department still have exams to go.
But they still insist on releasing the provisional marks as soon as 25 Nov. 10 days between my last exam and results? Yeah that's pretty fast.

I'm not actually sure about the official unimelb policy and whether this is normal. At Monash, results for every subject in a given study period are only available from the results day of that study period.

EDIT: According to ask.unimelb, "Any results that appear before [the official results date] are provisional only, and are subject to change any time before the final release date. Your results are only considered 'final' on the official release date." It's apparently normal for results to be released progressively but still, impressive to get them out in just over 2 weeks! (Not too impressed by the mark though...)

I know that this is all beside the point and that it's hard to guess what the uni is doing before everything is finalised but did anyone else have their WAM update again? Mine went back to what it was at pre-updating yesterday - not sure if I just had BIOL unexpectedly come through and be like exactly the same WAM UNDER what chem was over or...

Nope, wasn't BIOL10005 if that's what you're thinking. My WAM hasn't updated since yesterday
