Really? I thought I'd be looking around a 43-44
Well, the possible range is quite wide depending on how your sacs scale. You are probably maxing out at 48 and then depending on how your cohort went on the exam you can either maintain that or your study scale may be dragged down to the low-mid 40 range.

can u help me out sine
i think i'm top rank in a low cohort, and my sac average is somewhere about 99%. from the predicted answers, i think i got full marks on exam 1, but i've dropped at least 3 on exam 2 this morning. what kind of study score do you think i can expect?

Hi Guys,

I'm just wondering if a 50 is completely out of the question with rank 1, a 38/40 on Exam1 and a 60/60 on Exam 2? I assume it is but I just wanted to check. I also was wondering if there has ever been times when losing two marks gets you a 50?

Also, with this information what study score do you think would be expected?

Thank you!

Based on the data from previous exams and what was required for a 50 in those exams the max you can drop is 1 mark for a 50. I have never seen anyone drop 2 for a 50. Your problem is also coupled with the fact that marks on exam 1 are worth more than on exam 2.

Having said that,  study scores are calculated dependent on the exam of that year and how the state goes on it so whilst it is extremely likely dropping 2 marks will yield a study score less than 50 the probability is not 0.

Assuming your sacs are consistent with your exam scores I think you would be able to get a 48-49 study score.

feel kinda awful about this exam, i dropped five marks that i know of, 4 of them were really stupid mistakes (ended the line of my box plot at the wrong point, positive correlation coefficient instead of negative, used a y^2 transformation instead of x^2).. i think i dropped less marks in exam 1 but i haven't checked, my sac marks this year weren't great either (my cohort is strong-ish?) so i'm not expecting a great study score

a y^2 transformation would've been fine as well!

wait really? a friend told me the question said to apply the transformation to x but i couldve sworn it said you could use any transformation so i chose y^2

Omg, I actually didn't even realise it said to apply to it the x variable 'mean age' (Just looked at the pdf version of the exam). Sorry, so a y^2 transformation is actually incorrect, my bad!

What score am I looking at?
Rank 1 in a strong cohort so sac probs scaled to 100%

38/40 exam 1
60/60 exam 2

Thanks in advance

Hello, I did horrible in both exams due to nerves and was wondering what study score I can achieve.

SAC rank, I only know i'm at an A+ for my rank.

Exam 1: 37/40

Exam 2: 55-56/60

Is there any possible chance that I can even get a 40.
