My predictions:
(Raw scores all)
[Did HHD last year, got 31]
English: 36, exam B [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 36-46]
Revs: 32, exam C+ [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 32-40]
Methods: 27, exam 1 C, exam 2 C [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 27-32]
Texts: 36, exam B [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 36-46]
ATAR: I dreamed I got 79.85, let's predict that.
The course I want requires probably at least 91 ATAR...
That was my prediction.
English: 40>39.26 A little sad with this but only because I'd've liked it to stay at 40 scaled. It was around where I was hoping/expecting, anyway. I also have a question, since it doesn't seem to add up to me - the three GAs were A+ A+ and A; wouldn't this letter grade stuff be higher? Also, exam was A.
Revs: 32>30.96 Square on prediction. Including the exam - C+! Oddly, GA1 and 2 were both A's. Very proud of that exam C+ given the amount of pain I was in during it.
Methods: 34>39.16 I'm shocked about this one. Good shocked. How did I get A on both exams?! (And C+ in SACs. Ah well.) Higher than my predictions by a good chunk. Slightly sad it didn't scale to over 40, but given that I wasn't expecting that I don't mind.
And the
killer, Texts: Despite getting a B+ on the exam, and on Unit 4, and an A on Unit 3, I somehow got 34>34.19.
What? My teacher was predicting low to mid
40s. I was
expecting mid-high 30s. What
happened here? And someone else in my class also got lower than they were expecting - expected it to be their best score at it was their worst. The few in my class I've talked to all were disappointed with Texts. I'm just very confused and somewhat disappointed (no scratch that - very disappointed). Didn't believe the teacher's 'you'll get mid 40s' but still expected 40! I mean I expected similar for English and Texts. And now, what?
ATAR: 85.00 At the start of the year I wouldn't have been happy with it in the least - I confidently expected, all through my growing-up years, 90+. I even wanted -
expected if I worked hard - to beat Yertle's 93.something (and his Methods score, but never mind that). But now, after all sorts of things this year (lockdown being the
least of 'em) I'm happy with that. I was hoping for higher because I want to get my first preference, but hopefully (though not likely) SEAS will cover that. 14 January, here I come.
So in summary: ok with English (would've preferred more), happy with Revs, delighted with Methods and shocked and disappointed with Texts. ATAR I'm happy with, though it may destroy my hopes for a double degree where I want.
