Melbourne Uni Vs Monash Comm/Eng

Hey all so i know there have already been a ton of topics on this question already but here is my problem:

I am currently in year 11 and looking to study either Bcomm/MEng at UoM or Comm/Eng at Monash, however chemistry is a pre req for monash and i absolutely hate chemistry and am thinking of dropping it whereas it is not needed for melbourne

So my question are:
1. Is vce chemistry even useful towards a engineering degree?

2. In terms of content wise, will the two unis provide the same/similar content?

3. I know you get a common year at monash to get a taste of all the engineering fields, but what about melbourne? how do they integrate engineering into undergrad comm and do u get a taste of different fields?

4. So far i have heard melbourne's engineering to be a disaster compared to monash? how so? Melb uni v Monash uni v RMIT for Engineering        <----- mainly in this topic

Firstly, you don't need chemistry for Monash eng - just chem or physics. As for your questions (that I can answer):

1. Yes, there's a whole stream for it. Even without that stream, it's good to have a background in everything. Take it from someone who wants to be a mathematician but is struggling without basic biology.

Without being a pretentious Year 10, I'm pretty sure there's a compulsory chemistry unit at Monash. For B.Com at uniMelb you'd have to major in civil systems to fulfil the pre-reqs for their M.Eng postgrad degree.

There isn't really any significant difference between both universities since they're both highly regarded in engineering.
