The Numbers Game
« on: November 13, 2016, 04:15:18 pm »
This game is based on the game show letters and numbers.

Instructions:
1. Person posts a set of numbers generated by the numbers games generator and a target number which is to be solves
2. Person below solves the set of numbers to the target number specified by the person above them  (or show that it cannot be solved) that is generated but the person above and posts a new set of numbers with a different target.
3. Person below repeats what the person above

Rules are played as letters and numbers. That is, you must only use positive integers as intermediary steps to the solution and can only use multiply, divide, addition and subtraction.

So here's the first one:
25  100  2  4  10  9
Target: 811

Tbh I don't think it's possible for the above set. Got 812,810 but no 811 :)

\(100+4=104\)
\(104+75=179\)
\(\frac{50}{25}=2\)
\(179 \times 2=358\)
\(358+7=365\)

\(50\)  \(100\)  \(25\)  \(5\)  \(7\)  \(6\)

Get to \(958\) 8)

\(100+4=104\)
\(104+75=179\)
\(\frac{50}{25}=2\)
\(179 \times 2=358\)
\(358+7=365\)

\(50\)  \(100\)  \(25\)  \(5\)  \(7\)  \(6\)

Get to \(958\) 8)

50 / 25 = 2
100 x 2 x 5 = 100 x 10 = 1000
7 x 6 = 42
1000 - 42 = 958

Now the numbers are: 50, 100, 75, 10, 7, 1 and 6.
Get to: 502.

50 / 25 = 2
100 x 2 x 5 = 100 x 10 = 1000
7 x 6 = 42
1000 - 42 = 958

Now the numbers are: 50, 100, 75, 10, 7, 1 and 6.
Get to: 502.

50 X 10=500
7 - 6=1
1 + 1=2
500 + 2=502

(although I should point out that you have 7 numbers instead of the usual 6 in usual letters and numbers games)

Tbh I don't think it's possible for the above set. Got 812,810 but no 811 :)

It's not impossible:

Your numbers:
25  8  1  1  6  4
Target: 752

50 X 10=500
7 - 6=1
1 + 1=2
500 + 2=502

It's not impossible:
(Image removed from quote.)

Your numbers:
25  8  1  1  6  4
Target: 752

\(25 \times 4 = 100\)
\(100 - 6 = 94\)
\(94 \times 8 = 752\)

Target: \(442\)
Using: \(10\) \(4\) \(5\) \(8\) \(4\) \(5\)

\((75 \times (5 + ( \frac{50}{50})) + (5 + 2)\)

\(\boxed{\textbf{982}}\) using \(50, 100, 4, 7, 2, 1\)

What even is this I searched up the solution and was like what kind of inspiration must you have to figure that out

\((75 \times (5 + ( \frac{50}{50})) + (5 + 2)\)

\(\boxed{\textbf{982}}\) using \(50, 100, 4, 7, 2, 1\)
7*2=14
14+4=18

50-1=49

18*49=882
882+100=982

next one
523 using 75 25 1 3 3 3
