Title: VCE Changing Subjects
Post by: Bluebird on January 24, 2021, 03:47:35 pm
Hi ATARNotes,

I'm not sure if this is the right board to ask this but I'll ask anyway.

Is it possible to change from a 1/2 subject to a different 3/4 subject in year 12?
I'm doing French at the moment (I'm in year 11) and I'm unsure whether I want to continue it in year 12. I was thinking of switching to psych since apparently, its 3/4 isn't too bad without the 1/2 knowledge.

I've already emailed my teachers and career counsellor about this question but I was hoping I could get a faster response here.

Thanks for the help!

Definitely is possible and it really isn't too uncommon for someone to drop something from year 11 and pick something else up in year 12.

It is great that you have emailed your teachers and counselor given some schools may have different policies and may be more hesitant to allow it (even though externally it is always fine).

This alleviates a lot of overthinking and stress, thank you!
