Interviews for university selection

I'm hoping to clear something out for my daughter. She wants to get accepted into Melbourne Uni or Monash Uni, for bio medecine or science. Would there be any interviews in any situation like being slightly under the ATAR requirement. And if so, when would it be? Because after the exams. we are hoping to go overseas and we are unsure when would be the earliest time that we could leave.
Thanks, highly appreciate your replies.

It would be useful to check the entry criteria for the courses that your daughter is interested to make sure that there is no interview component for selection. For science and biomedicine there is generally no interview from my knowledge.

Interviews for university selection are only for a handful of courses. From the top of my head I can recall architecture, medicine, physiotherapy and possibly music (audition) having interviews.

The only science course that requires an interview at Monash is the bachelor of science advanced - global challenges (honours).

When I helped out with interviews they were in mid-December and early January.

In this case all candidates must attend the interview (in person or virtually) regardless of their ATAR to be considered for a place in the course.
