I am interested to know about the courses and programs you have mentioned, can you plz post what were those?
The course/program in our current schools or JMSS?
Upward and outward, no matter the cost.

The 12 week innovation program is called BrainSTEM. You do need to go through your school though, so try your best to convince them. Some other things I also did included the Breakthrough Junior Challenge (online science competition), Choose Maths Competition (online mathematics competition), International Math Modelling Challenge (online, can sign up through school), Aurecon Bridge Building Competition (through school, physical engineering competition), and much more if you search for it. For example, for national science week many universities hosted a series of science workshop activities, and there are also free science lectures at some local universities. Work experience also presents many opportunities, so get in contact with institutions you want to work at very early, even right now for the most competitive ones such as aquariums or health institutes.

Hi, I'm currently in year 10 and was in your exact position last year. I was so passionate for science and was devastated that I didn't get in. Here's some thoughts:m
3. Focus on the future. There is so much, and seriously, so much you can choose to pursue from here. You can explore topics you enjoy and write some casual research papers. Maybe you can network around your area and find a few mentors. You are not restricted by this loss, or any other external pressure, and if you allow yourself to look past that, to think "what can I do to change this", you will find yourself off much better. There was so much I accomplished in the year I missed going to JMSS: I created a maths paper, I entered a program in which I created a new invention over the course of 12 weeks, I met countless mentors, did work experience at a reputable university, got more time with my friends, etc. I do not regret this year and you should not either. You have the power to change yourself and your future.

And on an optimistic note, I tried again for JMSS this year and got in, which shows that persistence sometimes does win the game. Best of luck.
So, where did you find that 12 week course? I would dream to participate things like that, and these are basically the reasons I applied for JMSS.

Just Google Swinburne University BrainSTEM Innovation Challenge. You enter as a group of 4 from your school and get paired up with a mentor from a field you're interested in and get to create whatever you want using the resources your mentor has access to. It is through your school, however.

Swinburne university? That’s got nothing to do with JMSS.

My school offers this program next year as well and I think it can still be recognized by jmss as it is a STEM program; it also says on the website that monash uni is one of their partnership school :)
welp I’m procrastinating rn

Not everything you do needs to be correlated with JMSS. To make the most of your own skill and to take a step towards your own dreams and patterns, you should branch out and start looking for other STEM opportunities around you.

I didn't get in last year via Year 10 entry (didn't pass the interview), but I got in this year through Year 11 entry :D

I was wondering what is it like when taking the jmss entry test as I don't know what to expect I already know what tests we will take, but I don't know what the test would be like or what to expect. If anyone can share there advice for what taking the test was like or what websites would help, please share.

Is the John Monash Maths and Numerical tests easier than the selective tests?

Both tests are of a similar standard to the selective tests (well that's what I found back in 2013)
2013: John Monash Science School - 05/09/13
2015: Mathematical Methods (CAS)
2016: English | Chemistry | Specialist Mathematics | Biology | MUEP - Mathematics
2017: Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Bachelor of Commerce
2019: Bachelor of Medical Studies and Doctor of Medicine
