Nanotechnology is the application of science and engineering conducted at the nanoscale. It can be used to do things like manipulate atoms in a glass so that it doesn't break when dropped. What was it like and what kind of content did you cover? We spent half of term 1 learning definitions to do with nanotechnology. We've done hardly any pracs and only shallowly touched on concepts. Hope it’s better for you at JMSS.
Sadly, photography is a year ten elective at my school. It would be fun.
I guess I'm a lunatic too!  (My mum calls me the walking Department of Education :'() None of my friends know much about the whole VCE/uni system either.

WHAT ARE U DOING IN VCE FELLOW LUNATIC
2019 - JMSS
2020 - Mathematical Methods [  ] Biology [  ]

Why not make a thread about what subjects people will be doing in Year 10 and VCE? ;D

Last Day of Term!!

How does it feel to be halfway through the year?

Does your school allow you to finish early? (Mine didn't we finished at 3:10 :(  )

Did anyone finish on a different day?

Hi,
Any class of 2021 people doing units 3&4 subjects next year? I'm kind of worried about the workload haha.
Class of 2021 student here! And you are doing two 3/4 subjects in Year 10?!?!?!!?  If this is so, I advise you to put all your effort in them because I assume you would have more time? As you haven't started other 1/2? I wish you the best of luck next year and hope to hear more about your workload as I am going to be completing two units 3/4 subjects in 2020.

I find your signature intriguing haha. At this stage, what are you leaning toward for subjects in 2021?

Hey! That is a tricky question that I believe should be dependent on my next year's performance in Math Methods.
My teacher told me that Specialist and Methods would work well if you studied them together, so I was thinking whether there was a correlation between them.  I'm leaning towards two science subjects (Biology and Chemistry), not Physics, possibly a Commerce Subject (Legal Studies, Accounting or Economics), an English subject and possibly if Methods goes smoothly, Specialist Maths.

I think the one I am most worried about is English because it has to be in your Top 4. :(( I wish it didn't have to be.

And will this thread be upgrade to VIC Year 10 or VCE Discussion next year as we will not be in Year 9 next year?

Mod edit: Merged double post. If the most recent post in a thread is yours, please edit that post rather than posting twice in a row

I expect that we'll move this thread to the year 10 section

Ok thanks for merging but if I edit, how will anyone see that I've posted?

No worries :)

Since there haven't been any responses to the prior post, it's probably unread by most people & thus will show up.
If double posting was allowed we'd have more issues with spammy-ness and the forums being more difficult to read. It may seem like a small difference, but it all adds up.

In general, if you have questions about atarnotes' rules I'd encourage you to read this thread as it might help clarify them :)

Hey y'all. :)
Has anyone started any 1/2s? I started mine today and it just feels super weird being in classes with people who are complete strangers to me but they all know each other!

headstart/early commencement^

Most schools do it.

I was in a similar situation when I did Business 1/2 as a Year 10 student. The class was full of Year 11s and I knew nobody. I think it was actually a benefit, the distractions of friends etc. were removed so I could focus more. Obviously you get a feeling of 'me vs everybody else' and that's natural, but in the long run it'll benefit you :) Perhaps it may even be a motivating factor...

Same when I started bio 1/2. I found that it got less weird as the year progressed

At some schools VCE subjects are started at the end of the previous year. Eg, year 11 classes starting in the last couple of weeks of year 10.
