Hey, i'm struggling to find biology practice exams for the new 2017 study design and would greatly appreciate some suggestions.
Btw, I have purchased checkpoints and  have looked at engage education but I couldn't find any biology practice exams.
Thanks in advance.

You're probably going to have a hard time finding any practice exams for the new study design although the exam companies like TSSM, NEAP etc usually publish one a year so you should be given them by your school. There are also plenty of relevant questions in exams from the previous study design.

Can someone show me their neurotransmitter notes pls? electrical impulse, Sodium potassium pump etc pls!!! <3
I have some for the sodium potassium pump but I rlly don't know if you'll understand my notes? They're really rushed and I have messy handwriting and I'm pretty sure they could be copied straight out of the book (?) Also, i shorten some words when i write so you might not understand some parts :/ idk, but i hope it helps anyway!

the variable region has to be identical because it is specific for a particular antigen.

this sentence was in my textbook but i dont really understand why this is the case...

'the concentration of enzymes for cellular respiration is linked to the availability of mitochondria in the cell'

any explanation would be appreciated!
thank you in advance  :) :)

I think it's just saying, that the enzymes required for cellular respiration are found in the mitochondria, so if you have a greater number of mitochondria, you have a greater concentration of enzymes for cellular respiration.

i have my input and outputs for cellular repiration and photosynthesis but not sure if they are right. Could someone please check these for me or send a list of the actual inputs/outputs? ALSO do we need to know numbers of carrier molecules (NAD, FAD)?

Help would be appreciated :)

Glycolysis
 Inputs: 1 glucose, ADP + Pi, NAD+
Outputs: 2 pyruvate, 2ATP, 2NADH

Kreb's Cycle
Inputs: 2 Acetyl-CoA, ADP +Pi, NAD+, FAD
Outputs:  4CO2, 2ATP, 6NADH, 2FADH2,

Electron transport chain
Inputs: O2, H+, ADP + Pi, NADH, FADH2
Outputs: H2O, 32ATP, NAD+, FAD

Light dependent stage (photosynthesis)
Inputs: water, light energy, ADP + Pi, NADP
Outputs: oxygen, ATP (18),NADPH

Light-independent stage/calvin cycle
Inputs:  CO2, ATP (18),NADPH,
Outputs:  Pgal (C3 compound), water, ADP+ Pi, NADP

2. is the thylakoid the inner membrane of the chloroplast or is the inner membrane separate to them?
3. what is GAP?
4. is the final product of light independent stage glucose or should you write pGAL? (cause one of the answers to a textbook question said ‘The light-independent reactions occur in the stroma and the final product is glucose’)
5. what happens to pGAL after it is synthesised? (stored/used? converted into glucose in cytosol?)
6. is NAD same as NAD+ and is FAD same as FAD+?
7. Explain how structures of chloroplasts are important for photosynthesis (is this referring to guard cells)
8. Is movement of water out of stoma diffusion or osmosis? Why

Help would be so greatly appreciated!! :) :) :) :)

1. Thylakoids are just disc inside the chloroplast, when they are stacked, they are called a granum.
2. Don't need to know
3. pgal and glucose are technically the same thing, but use glucose for sure.
4.Depends, can be stored as starch or used for respiration.
5,6,7 Google search will give you a better answer than I ever will.

A lot of these questions could of been easily be answered through your text book or even google. Just remember that you should at least attempt these or give briefly what you think the answer might be, that why you can learn. :)

Phagocytes need lots of ribosomes to manufacture digestive enzymes which fill the lysosomes to destroy any foreign material engulfed by the cell.
