As a biology student in year 12 next year, thank you for your words of wisdom.
Do you offer tutoring by any chance?

Just a note on the kind of scores you need to be getting to be in contention for a 50 - I have a couple of examples that got various study scores (from this year):

Exam 1 = 137, Exam 2 = 144 --> 50
Exam 1 = 140, Exam 2 = 137 --> 50
Exam 1 = 135, Exam 2 = 134 --> 47
Exam 1 = 132, Exam 2 = 141 --> 48

The good thing about Biology is that even if the second exam was easy, a relatively low score does not put you out of contention for a 50; I have a friend who scored 132 in the mid-year and got a 50. Another friend last year got 126 in the mid-year and got a 50 (he got 147 in the end-of-year) in 2009.

i answered in dot points.

thought it was great because it saves a lot of time and also gives you an idea of how many points you made for each question

Hiya!

This helped loads. I don't know if you even have your account still, but the thing is the study design has changed since 2016. Do I just do as much of past exams as I can? seems like a time waster if I stumble across a question I don't know and spend time working that out:/ also what is biozone? We have edrolo now, an online tool with video lectures that feature questions within the videos, and our textbook. My teachers also print out summarised powerpoint slides. All my teacher really talks about revision-wise is the study design and past exams by vcaa.

I know that last sentence sounds cynical but my teacher is kind of notorious for not giving us enough information before tests and exams, e.g he said "You don't need to know all the inputs and outputs of cellular respiration and photosynthesis, just a general idea", when actually our first sac told us to list them ALL, in the correct stages, for full marks. This cost me at least 2 marks because I studied them anyway but got some confused as I had to look at so many different resources. I just feel nervous because my teacher might emphasise one thing in the end of year exam and then it might turn out that something else is important. How do I work around this?

I'm not sure if we even have that many past exams, he hasn't mentioned whether we get them or not. Where would we get exams made by other companies from? I know tssm helps, but what others are there?

Thanks so much!
