I'm thinking about sitting one of my Monash online exams on campus so this is good news

Just avoid the ones after JMSS school hours unless you don't mind a bit of crampiness and loud chatter, you may even get to take one of those snazzy bendy buses! Before school is fine for me, but I get to school so early that we have to wait for someone to unlock the door

Saw on the socials this morning that a cleaner at Flinders Street Station got diagnosed with the virus. 😬 apparently metro staff aren't happy 😅

I've purposely taken to getting to uni shortly before 10 so that I can catch the only express train in the morning that goes from North Melbourne straight through to Royal Park. It takes a minute off my trip, but the thrill of skipping two stations makes it seem faster 😂

I found it pretty empty, and about 75-80% people are wearing masks (from my experience throughout the week) if that helps? :)
I'd say 8, provided you wash your hands and stuff?

Took the bus for the first time in four months. It was such a weird experience.

I don't think I've been on PT all year. Maybe caught the train once in Jan? When I eventually do go on PT again it'll feel so weird!

Feels odd to wear a mask on the train because maybe not enough physical distancing...
Spoiler
Then there are hardly any people on the train. I mean, myself the sole occupant type.

I'd say probably around 7. Nevertheless, seriously wondering if I shouldn't.

Where are you going on?? Round where I am, it's around maybe 20-30% using it, including me (real pest because how on earth are you meant to breathe?). Then you cough and get death glares from every corner.

Out in western suburbs and then also inner city. You'd be surprised, but then again you just have to pick your times.

Masks aren't comfortable, but they're necessary to slow the spread, and I've been fine wearing one throughout the week. I won't comment further on this here so I don't derail :)

Not much. To be fair, I did use the bus after lunch on a weekday so I expected there to be little people on the bus (there was around 9 of us I think)

I do love the little green ‘sit here!’ stickers on Sydney buses. Love the fact that people can’t sit next to you on the bus anymore. Reduces the anxiety of having to let the person next to you you’re getting off the bus when you’re sitting in the window seat aha!

I don't think I've been on PT all year. Maybe caught the train once in Jan? When I eventually do go on PT again it'll feel so weird!

It'll definitely feel so weird within the first few minutes! I've been used to driving myself to places. I remember sitting in the bus today and being like "I can actually go to places without driving and having the pay attention to the road. All I have to do is sit back"

I was also surprised to see that I still had money left in my Opal card lmao

Bump!

Holy heck I just remembered that my concession Opal card will be expiring very soon since I'm no longer a student. My bank account and I need to mentally prepare to pay the full adult fares on Sydney buses and trains :(

This is reminding me I need to buy a new ptv tertiary student id since they expire every year (I think in Feb or March?). Just checked WES (Monash puts our form to print for it there) & we can't get new ones until Jan so I guess it'll have to wait

When the Suburban Rail Loop would likely reduce your commute to uni by at least half an hour to an hour but you won't even be in uni by the time it's done :(
