Are sample exams by the VCAA similar to the actual exam?

Hi everyone,
In the 2017 sample studio arts exam, there are two very strange questions:
•   2017: Explain how you have used artistic inspiration to refine your individual use of materials and techniques during your studio process.
•   2017: Discuss how two sources of inspiration identified in your exploration proposal have contributed to your individual studio process.

My teacher never taught us this and says that it would most likely not be on the exam. What do you think? Is it usual to put something on the sample exam but not have it in the real exam?

I can't comment for your subject in particular. But for further maths last year, the sample exam was "extremely" similar to the exam done on the day. But that was the first year of a new study design being made as well.
If those questions are related to a dot point on the study design, then it could be on the actual exam.
Jack of all trades, master of none.
Hence why i'm in all these different threads and boards.
