Title: Eloise's slightly cHaOTic journey through VCE !
Post by: eloisegrace on April 06, 2020, 09:02:27 pm
Hello everyone!

It's el's vce journey! I wanted to make this for myself to just look back at. I don't know how frequent I will update on here, but I'll try my best :)

This year, I am doing two 3/4s, Methods and Further. I really enjoy maths and I find these subjects very different! My 4 1/2s are English Language, Chemistry, French and Accounting. Funny story, I actually did physics until week 3 and I didn't like it, so I swapped to further 3/4. I basically taught myself half of AOS 1, but it has turned out great! I am also doing accounting via VSV due to timetabling issues with physics, but now as they have changed I am planning to move to my school's accounting class.

My worst subject has always been English, so hopefully English Language helps that and I also have an amazing teacher. I am really enjoying chemistry, and I am proud of my scores. French has been very chill, and I enjoy writing and reading but I'm a little worried about speaking and listening. I have kinda been neglecting accounting, however, I've covered a lot of the content previously in a y10 elective.

For my 3/4's, I am aiming for 40+, however more realistically I am aiming for 40+ in further and 35+ in methods.

Outside of studies, I am very involved with my school and sport. I am house sports captain at my school and I love participating in all sports. I play netball and dive outside of school. However, I had major shoulder surgery last year so I haven't been able to participate as much, but I have taken up the role as a diving coach at my school. I love it! I also have two jobs, however none of them are going rn due to the coronavirus :(. I umpire netball and babysit. I also love Brooklyn 99, and spending time with my beautiful friends and family <3

I want my little journal to be a place for positivity ;).

If you have any questions or tips, please reply to this thread. I would love to answer them!

Hey el!!

Awesome that you've made a journal! I'm sure you'll enjoy looking back on your journal in years to come and realise how much you've grown as a person!
What are you most excited about this year? Which maths is your favourite, methods or further??

Thanks for replying! I've been on AN for a while and have never made a post.

Honestly, I was most excited about sports at school and house activities. My school is very connected through house activities but due to corona some of them may be cancelled :( At least my events as a captain have already happened :D In terms of studies, I was really excited to do subjects that I enjoy, but I didn't realise how much of an increase in workload it would be. Going into term 2, I am really excited about French and Chem, as they are my favourite 1/2s!

In terms of maths, I definitely enjoy further more! It is definitely easier for me (I am pretty strong at maths..). I have a pretty good teacher for further, and I have understood all of the material and enjoyed the classes. Methods is so stressful for me :( I don't have a very good teacher, and the content is quite harder than 1/2. I have had to put in a lot more effort than I thought I would have to. My school may be changing some things for next term due to corona, and I am hoping that me and my friends are able to get some extra support.

How are your subjects going? Why are you interested in paramedicine? I have absolutely no clue what I want to do after y12, but I have another year and a half at least!

Do you have a favourite house activity?
Are you finding the workload manageable? Doing a language is definitely fun!!! Do you see yourself going anywhere with a language or are you doing it for fun?? I did Indonesian up until Year 11, as in Year 10 I had to do it via distance and it was pretty sucky. Though I definitely regret not continuing it in Year 11 and this year, I wish I'd stuck with it!

Its great you have a good teacher for further, despite methods being stressful are you enjoying the subject as a whole? Is it extending you or is it just stressful and horrible?

My subjects are going pretty well! I love all of them despite wishing I could have done Theatre Studies and Dance or Drama but my school doesn't offer it and wouldn't let us do it via distance.
Paramedicine piqued my interest when I because of a VICSES volunteer. We are Australias largest road rescue provider, meaning that everywhere except for metro areas if you have a car accident SES will be there. Contrary to popular belief the firefighters aren't the ones with the jaws of life, we are. And so doing the training for that and working with paramedics I just fell in love with the fact that we have the ability to change someone's life, if you're in a life-threatening accident the SES and paramedics have the ability to get in the car and reassure the patient and talk them through everything that's going on, letting the patient know that there's going to be a loud bang as we cut through hinges and force the door open and being able to bring them down from hysteria is a really special thing to be able to do especially when they are at their most vulnerable and people remember you being there with them and the kindness more than anything. I also love the medical side of what we do, and I'm a lifeguard so the idea of first aid and all that jazz, I love it.  Its a situation you don't want to happen but when something does happen it's really rewarding to be able to save peoples lives. I will admit there are times when people can't be saved which is so horrible and it stays with you but there are pros and cons to everything and I want to be a paramedic to help save lives, cause the first 15 minutes in any medical situation are the most critical.
Sorry, that was a long blurb.
What are you're hobbies?
Do you have any idea on courses of even jobs you would love to experience?

Do you have a favourite house activity?

I love House aths! My house came in a very close second (we deserved first...) and we won the spirit stick! My school is very spirity and honestly winning the spirit stick made my day. I also love House Dance and I'm really hoping it goes ahead...

Are you finding the workload manageable?

Yes, but I have been procrastinating a lot this year. However, I am trying to balance myself these holidays to get a good amount of work done, especially for methods!

I love French! I really enjoy the language a lot. I don't think I will pursue it as a career, however, I am hoping to keep up with it after school. I was looking forward to going on an exchange this year, however I'm not sure that is gonna happen with VCE exams being pushed back and the coronavirus. I am really sad about that, but it is what it is I guess...

Its great you have a good teacher for further, despite methods being stressful are you enjoying the subject as a whole? Is it extending you or is it just stressful and horrible?

It is definitely extending me! I was pretty much fine with it all until the current topic, however with a lot of questions and lots of snapchat rants and questions to my classmates, I think I've got it. Next term, I am planning on maybe contacting one of the other teachers or the Head of Maths at my school :).

My subjects are going pretty well! I love all of them despite wishing I could have done Theatre Studies and Dance or Drama but my school doesn't offer it and wouldn't let us do it via distance.

That's annoying! Doing a subject via distance is hard, although there are probably 10 people in my year level doing something like that. One of my best friends is doing Dance 3/4 and she loves it! But sometimes I think it is good for those things to just be hobbies rather than actual VCE subjects.

Paramedicine piqued my interest when I because of a VICSES volunteer. We are Australias largest road rescue provider, meaning that everywhere except for metro areas if you have a car accident SES will be there. Contrary to popular belief the firefighters aren't the ones with the jaws of life, we are. Sorry, that was a long blurb.

That is so cool! Having a passion is really great for your future! I remember when a tree fell across my street and nearly hit my house... and the SES completely cleaned it in the middle of the night. I am in awe of emergency workers, lots of my family are paramedics, firees or police officers!

What are you're hobbies?
Do you have any idea on courses of even jobs you would love to experience?

I would love to go into some health course, but not strictly medicine. At the moment, I am a bit interested in physiotherapy or pharmacy, however, I am pretty sure that I will go into a general course at the start and then do more specific further study.

I hope year 12 isn't too stressful at the moment! I could not imagine the stress you all are going through. Do you have any advice for year 11's at the moment. Of course you didn't go through year 11 during corona, but you went through it nonetheless.

If there is anything you need help with with further, I am always here!

Holiday Update  ;)

Hello everyone!
I hope you have all had a good holiday and easter 🍫. These holidays have been very boring and mundane, as I haven't been able to do anything out of the house rly :(. My holidays are usually filled with seeing my friends and family, shopping and getting out of the house. I have managed to go for a walk every day with my mum, but other than that I've just been watching YouTube, Netflix and doing some work... On to my subjects  :D

Methods 3/4
Ok, I have a love-hate relationship with this subject. I actually weirdly find it fun doing the questions once I understand them. However, there are some things I don't completely understand and as a perfectionist that annoys me. I have high expectations for myself in this subject and I am not just someone doing it as a pre-requisite. I don't know how hard it is to get a 40 in this subject but I would love to achieve that, but I'm not sure if it's possible.
During the holidays I completed:
6D-6K and 7A-7E Cambridge textbook
1.7, 2.7, 4.4 Nelson textbook
A giant circular functions exam questions
My bound reference
ATAR Notes lecture  ;)
Assignment 3 and 4

Further 3/4
Further is super chill. I find the content very simple however I need to do lots of practice to master exam style question. I have had one SAC and it was pretty good. I am excited to continue to learn the content and hopefully get better and better :)
During the holidays I have completed:
6E and 7E Cambridge textbook
5.1-5.5 Nelson textbook
Organise my folder
ATAR Notes lecture
ATAR Notes Data Analysis Topic Tests

English Language 1/2
I want to like this subject so much but I just can't :( :(. I am trying to engage with the content and look further into it but English does not seem to pique my interest at all. If you have any tips to enjoy English Language (or any English), pleasee let me know! I want to start liking and engaging with this subject as it has to be in my top 4 and I want to do well and prove myself wrong as I have always thought that I am bad at English.
During the holidays I completed:
Practice interest presentation
Half of a Short Answer Question booklet
Organise my folder...

Chemistry 1/2
I really enjoy this subject :). However, I feel like I don't retain the knowledge that much. I understand things but I just can't remember them. Any tips for that would be much appreciated.
During the holidays I have done;
Chapter 4 summary
Chapter 5 summary
organise my chem folder
AOS 1 2018 test

French 1/2
I love French sm hehe. I LOVE my class (rip our fun times cos corona :'() and the subject is pretty chill. I just need to try and revise and put more effort into improving my French however I am very happy with myself in this subject.
During the holidays I have done (we had no hw lol):
Watch Belle et Sebastian (HIGHLY recommend)
Watch the French News on SBS

Accounting 1/2
I am not vibing with this subject atm. I rly dislike how VSV works, as there isn't much actual teaching, you basically read notes and maybe watch a video. I am really excited to move into my schools' accounting class in term 2  ;D. I also did nothing for this subject on the holidays...

Overall, I have been somewhat productive but there is a lot more that I would have wanted to do but I defs set too high of expectations.

Are you all excited to go back to school? Personally, I am excited to have a bit of routine in my life but am not looking forward to doing remote school for term 2. I just miss my friends so much 🥺🥺

Wow... back to school again  :(

Hello everyone! I hope you had a great first couple of days back at school. This is a really weird time for all of us and I am always here for everyone if you need! Warning, this is probably going to be a very long update so bear with me please :)

Ok, so... how have I been going. Honestly, not too great. I am really disliking online school. The few benefits (more time, warm food, no uniform) are heavily outweighed by the cons (not being able to see friends and teachers, sitting at the same desk for 6 hours, unmotivated). I really miss school and online school is definitely not my fav. However, I am really trying to stay on top of my work and be working in an almost identical matter to what I would be doing if I was in school.

The worst part is definitely being at home and not being able to see my friends. I am an only child and I love my friends to death. I love social interaction and that aspect of school (especially my school with the sports and house programs). This isolation is really killing me. I have been FaceTiming my friends while I go on lunchtime walks but it truly isn't the same. I bumped into one of my friends that I hadn't really talked to over the holidays and hanging out with her for an hour truly made me realise how much I miss my friends. I'm sorry for being so negative and I do believe that I am extremely fortunate in this situation. My family has not had to struggle financially or physically and I am very grateful for that. However, I'm just getting a bit lonely and I want to go back to school!

Onto subject related stuff:

Further 3/4:
Holy moly I love further ♡. It just makes sense to me. I had the second part of my Data Analysis SAC on Thursday and I think it went well ??? My school sets really ambiguous SACs as that is how VCAA asks them too apparently, however, the rest of the SACs will be more structured like the exam due to remote learning. Yay! The teacher goes at a very slow pace which is nice in comparison to my other classes. While further is one of my 3/4s, I definitely find it the most relaxing subject. For further, we use Zoom to learn content and then stay on the zoom call while doing exercises. We just finished looking at sequences and recurrence relations and tbh its basically y7 maths. I love it hehehe.

Methods 3/4:
I hate this subject I hate this subject I hate this subject I hate this subject I hate this subject. Complete opposite of further. This subject has and will most definitely cause me the most stress and anxiety throughout this year. There are some private things that are making it super difficult in this subject. I would move classes however my blocking does not allow it :'(. As someone who is used to doing very well in maths, this is a bit of a shock. We are about to start calculus using the 'Flip Learning' method where we basically watch a video made by my teacher explaining the content and then go into a zoom meeting with our teacher to ask questions. I KNOW this will not work for me. They tried to do a bit of this last term and it did not work for me, hence why I had to search up lots of YouTube videos trying to explain the general solution :(. We had a progress test today, and it was awful. It was a NEAP diagnostic test on Circular Functions and let me tell you it was hard. Like really hard. I did a lot of exam questions relating to circular functions and these were harder than almost all of them. Anyways, I really hope that this subject will get better for me and that I do well in my SAC in two weeks. Eek!

English Language 1/2:
Nothing much has gone on in this subject. My teacher who is super sweet slowly eased us into the term which was very nice. We just finished a transcriptions task where we had to read another person conversation as they said it. it was quite interesting! As we are remote learning, some of the course is being altered to ease the stress on us thank god hehe! We have finished U1AOS1 which is vital to 3/4, however, the rest of the year is not completely relevant which is nice for me. I have a SAT next week on text analysis which I hope I do ok on. I need to correct the short answer questions that I have answered and maybe do some more.

Chemistry 1/2:
Is it weird to say that I love chemistry? I really love the content and find it super interesting and not too hard to understand. However, my decent memory seems to fade when trying to do questions. I know that questions are the best way to study for me, however, I need to try and learn and remember the content first. Any tips would be appreciated. Like English Language, the course is getting slightly shortened due to coronavirus which is nice  :D. I have my AOS1 test next week and I am a bit nervous for it... I didn't do too badly on the AOS1 test on Atoms, the PT and Metals (87%), however, I have been struggling with remembering the content to do well on the practice tests. I will do some more study on the weekend in the hopes of improving!

French 1/2:
Super chill as always. We had a good zoom meeting today talking about our holidays and catching up. I LOVE my french class so much and it was so nice to see everyone in the same room (be it online) :) I have some writing due in a week but other than that not much for this subject. However, I am trying to do an hour of study a week to improve my French, as it is probably my weakest subject after English Language. I was very pleased with my speaking outcome score (85%) but I feel like my French isn't at a level where I want it to be. Sadly, it looks like I am not going to be able to go on an exchange and I am devastated. My friend and I were planning on going and had made (fake) plans to see our favourite French singers in concert, Kids United! I would highly recommend their songs, especially 'On écrit sur les murs' and 'Chante'. If you walked by our French class last year, you probably would have heard my friends and I having the best time singing these songs ;D

Accounting 1/2:
I am soo glad I am moving to my school's accounting class in Unit 2. While I see the many benefits and VSV and it really is great for some people, I am not one of those people. I just finished Week 8 and Week 9 is due today. Also, my teacher emailed me and texted?! me saying that I hadn't completed Week 8, even when all VCE classes had had an extension mentioned in multiple emails. I find accounting decently easy and I enjoy having breadth in my subjects, but sometimes it is very frustrating...

Over the weekend and next week, I want to get into some good habits and a study routine. I want to be caught up and less stressed. I know this is a very hard time and I am trying to give myself as much down-time as possible.

I'm curious, how do you guys remote learn? Feel free to answer my poll  :)

I also want to thank this AN community for being so welcome, and especially J_Rho who has been so sweet and kind to me.

I hope you have had a great week and have a good weekend (make sure to do something relaxing)

I feel this! Make sure you reach out to those you are comfortable with and continue to talk about your frustrations, its a really tough time and we all need to make sure we are looking after our mental wellbeing in the long run.

Further 3/4:
Holy moly I love further ♡. It just makes sense to me. I had the second part of my Data Analysis SAC on Thursday and I think it went well ??? What did you do for your data analysis sac?? I'm 110% stressed about my data sac next week cause it is SO vague!!

Over the weekend and next week, I want to get into some good habits and a study routine. I want to be caught up and less stressed. I know this is a very hard time and I am trying to give myself as much down-time as possible.
Try not to expect to form habits overnight and don't be too harsh on yourself, make sure you really differentiate study time from downtime so you can allow yourself to fully relax. There's nothing worse than not being able to completely unwind because you didn't feel like you used your study time efficiently. It takes 21 days to form a habit and 90 days to create a lifestyle :)

I'm curious, how do you guys remote learn? Feel free to answer my poll  :)
My classes are currently using Google Meet to host video call classes, and Google Hangouts to ask questions. For SES we are holding training via WebEx. It's all working really quite well so far, but lack of motivation and ease of procrastination is such an issue tho.

I also want to thank this AN community for being so welcome, and especially J_Rho who has been so sweet and kind to me.

I completed some practice SACs that my school handed out, but imo I think it is hard to study for if you know the knowledge. Something I found SUPER handy was templates on how to answer data analysis questions. I also completed chp7 in the Cambridge textbook and the relevant chapters in some commercial resources (I don't think this is necessary because the question style is SO different.

I also think crafting a bound reference that suits YOU is a great form of revision (include tips and common mistakes)

Try not to expect to form habits overnight and don't be too harsh on yourself, make sure you really differentiate study time from downtime so you can allow yourself to fully relax. This is honestly how I have been feeling the past couple of weeks. Something I am trying to do is use the Pomodoro technique (25 mins study, 5 rest, repeat 4 times then a 30min rest) and even though I just started it today I think it is so helpful!!

It's all working really quite well so far, but lack of motivation and ease of procrastination is such an issue tho.
Exactly how me and my close work friends are feeling!

Aww anytime girl, we are all here to support each other now more than ever
I love this little community. I also love how supportive and community-driven my school is during these times. I know I can always talk to so many people if I need extra support :) :)

Week 2 of Online School

Another week done :). Boy has this week been exhausting... Not much outside of school has happened this week so I will move onto the school-related stuff.

Further 3/4
Still love further! We just started recursion and financial and I find it nice and straightforward. It is basically linear equations with different letters... I haven't got my SAC back and I starting to get nervous, hopefully, I will get it back next week. I am completely happy with this subject online, and I hope it will continue that way.

Methods 3/4
Gosh this subject takes a toll on me. While I don't find the basics of calculus that hard, its just a hassle to complete and it takes so long. I have 4 SACs in the next 2 weeks and I am super scared. This subject is definitely the cause of my stress at the moment, however, I am glad that I am doing it in year 11 and not year 12.

English Language 1/2
This week was pretty chill except for Part B of my AOS1 SAT. It was supposed to be last term but got pushed back multiple times. I actually think I did better than I thought I would. The text was an advertisement with a clear purpose and I think my answers had all of the stuff that my teacher told me to include in my practice short answer questions. Pretty excited to move onto to a less content-heavy topic of Unit 1, and one that is not very relevant to 3/4. I hope I find it more interesting :)

Chemistry 1/2
I am really enjoying chem at the moment. It works very well at home and the content seems very relevant and intertwined hehe. We had our AOS1 test and it was pretty good, except for some very weird wording hahaha. Excited to continue ♡

French 1/2
Honestly, I neglect French at times and it is super easy to. I really want to start doing extra French outside to improve as I feel like during quarantine my skills are decreasing. However, we are doing a unit on French history and talking about the past and I find it pretty interesting. I honestly miss French so much in real life, I love my class and I feel like it is so much better in real life.

Accounting 1/2
This week was pretty boring. We only have 3 more weeks of content before an open book SAT and then the end of Unit 1. I can't wait to move onto Unit 2 and I hope I start enjoying it more.

Co-Curricular
I have been doing lots of sport and house activities online. I have helped organise Remote Cross Country and promote weekly house activities. I love how my school is staying so connected during these times xxx

Personal
I'm feeling super tired and unmotivated lately. I hope that after this week I will be fine as I only have methods assessments til about week 6ish which is nice. I need a break but it is so hard to find time atm. But I am talking to lots of people during iso and having a blast even if it is through a screen.

hi emily! welcome to AN :). So funny that we are doing similar subjects. I nearly chose spec and was going to do normal English until eng lang was introduced to my year level. how is eco? my school doesn't offer eco and even after doing multiple commerce electives i still don't really know what it is about!

i don't really like online school, but i am surviving as you would say ahah. methods is definitely the worst subject online for me. it just doesn't work with my teacher and how i personally learn, however one good thing that has come out of this is that i am better at teaching myself concepts :). where are you up to in class. we are about 2/3 of the way through chp 9 in cambridge (differentiation) and I have my first SAC in about a week and a half and i'm super nervous!

what have u been doing for french? i love this subject but i feel like i don't do enough to improve my language skills :(

Mid Week Update

Hello everyone! A lil update here because I am in a good mood and i have lots to share with you :)

Personal
I have started to become more positive towards online school and this whole situation! This has been one of the first few weeks in year 11 where I have not felt overwhelmed. I have been truly happy which is great! And lastly, my shoulder is getting better and stronger. I had a strength test and a 1/3 of the tests were 100% (same strength as my good arm) with the rest being around 75%-90%. I'm so happy as for the past month I feel like my rehab has been useless but 5 months after my recon I am finally seeing proper results!

Co-Curricular
We had remote cross country on Tuesday and it was honestly fun. I really enjoyed having house spirit while remote and I'm so proud of my house for being so enthusiastic. This is my last official event as house sports captain which is a bit sad but I have had a great time and I'm glad that it is done early in the year so I can focus on other things.

I completed my silver Duke of Ed finally! I got everything signed off and I'm super excited to start working on my gold :)

Methods 3/4
Not much has happened but I have finished chapter 9 before my class so I need to start working on some SAC style questions. I am feeling a bit better about this subject which is good but it's still quite challenging, especially remote.

Further 3/4
We have nearly finished chapter 8 which is good. I want to start doing some checkpoints and other questions as I go. Also, I got my SAC result back. I was so nervous... this is my first ever SAC result ever. I opened it while on a call with my friends which was quite funny hahaha.

I wish I could put this in one of those open boxes, I don't know how to do this so if you do please teach me how  :D
I got an A+!!

I am so incredibly happy and this result counts for at least 10% of my study score (may be more due to Unit 3 weighting of data analysis and financial)

English Language 1/2
This subject is still my least favourite, however, I am excited to move onto Child Language Acquisition and we have learnt some year 12 stuff due to a shortened course. I haven't received my SAC results back and I am hoping for a 70%+ (i know that's not very high but I am trying to be realistic).

Chemistry 1/2
I love chem. I got my Unit 1 AOS1 test back and I got a 96%!! I really don't know how I got this but I am very proud of myself and I'm glad I have a solid grasp of this topic.

French 1/2
French is pretty chill at the moment. We are doing some history stuff and I have been having some fun. French is a chill subject for me this year and I enjoy the work.

Accounting 1/2
I am slowly trying to get back into the swing of online accounting. I only have 2 weeks of content left and 1 test and then I can revise some Unit 1 stuff for preparation to Unit 2 with my school.

I hope you are all having a great week!

Hey Eloise!  ;D
It's great to hear that you got an A+ on your Further Maths SAC, as well as your chem SAC! C'est tres bien! My results came out last week for Further and I'm happy with my results as well but I'm still bothered by the minute mistakes I made :/ What are you guys covering in VCE French so far? Do you find it tricky compared to your other subjects? I did French during my junior years of high school because it was compulsory but I dropped out in year 9 because it started to get harder. I also did units 1/2 Vietnamese at a language school (My ethnicity is Vietnamese) but I dropped out as well because I gave up on LOTES.

Thank you! I am extra happy about further because this SAC now counts for 16% and I am either rank 1 or equal rank 1 I think! I hope everything is going well with you with further and psychology.

In French, we cover different topics each term as well as a range of text types and grammar structures. Last term we covered recreational activities and revised adverbs, negatives and relative pronouns. This term, we are learning about French History which is super interesting even though I forget all about it after class and are mainly focusing on the past tenses. We had one outcome (an oral about a movie we liked) and we have two outcomes this term, one a writing and one a reading and listening task. I find French super chill but I find myself not putting much extra effort which I hope I will improve over this year in preparation for year 12. Doing a LOTE is hard but I find it very fun and I think it is worth learning the language and it does scale nicely which is a bonus :)

Mini Update Time!

I want to do a larger update but I feel like I have a couple of things to say :).

First I want to personally thank everyone who I have interacted with on AN. I love this community and I am so excited to continue my journal and reading others during my VCE years.
I am so grateful to have received MOTM for April! When I saw my name I was speechless! A big thanks to everyone :)

Another thing... I am super stressed for my methods SAC this week and next week. It is worth a whopping 22% of my ss and I don't really know how to prepare for it. I have done some of the practice SACs and they were near impossible but I did the 2020 introductory task and found it easy? I am really hoping for the best for this task as it is really starting to stress me out and as it is worth so much I want to do well and hopefully rank in the top 10 (out of 50 in a very strong cohort at a very strong school).

I appreciate every single one of my over 1200! viewers of this journal!

Hi eloise,
MOTM is definitely well deserved! I'm glad you've created a journal and are a part of the AN community  8)

It's totally normal to feel a little stressed! This is your first year doing 3/4 subjects and it's normal to want to do well. Just stay focused, believe in yourself and continue to cover topics that you find difficult. Trust in your abilities and I'm sure you'll do great! It's good you have a strong cohort in methods as it takes off the pressure to rank really highly.
22% sounds like a lot, but in reality, it only establishes rankings and you have another sac and 2 exams to go. So even if you don't do quite as well as you want (which I'm sure you will), but even if you don't, at least you've got the practice and can smash the next one.
GOOD LUCK! You'll do great :)
All the best eloise  ;D

Oh no, it's Methods week....

Hello everyone!

I feel like I haven't updated on here in a lil bit so here is a recap of my last couple of weeks.

Further 3/4
This subject is super chill as always. We have just started chapter 9 so that means we only have 3 more chapters til we finish the course! Due to the study design changes, the data analysis SAC is now worth about 17% (which is great because I did very well) and we are only doing one module. My school is thinking about doing the networks module, which I am kinda sad about because I was excited to do matrices!

I feel like my worst topic is recursion and financial, so I need to keep on doing constant revision, but I have kinda been neglecting it due to methods  :-\

Methods 3/4
Oh gosh I cannot wait until this SAC is over! We have done part A in class and have part B to do at home, but we have been allowed to communicate which is super nice. So far, it isn't too hard however I am scared it is gonna get very hard for part D (which is worth about 90% of the SAC score) as this is the only SAC we have for Unit 3. Thankfully I have been working super well with one of my friends for part's A and B and hopefully the next SACs build on the SACs we have done.

Otherwise, I want to start doing some extra revision (checkpoints, ATARNotes stuff etc.) to revise for the exam, however I need to finish the SAC first ahaha.

My 1/2's
These have all been very chill. I haven't had any real assessments and we have been going at a very slow pace which is nice. I only have 1 more week of accounting for Unit 1 which I am excited about, and I got 97% on my part 1 SAC for eng lang!

I hope y'all have a great week and I am super thankful for everyone for replying and interacting with me on AN!

Thanks,
Eloise x

Weekly Update 16/05

Methods 3/4
The SAC is OVER ;D ;D. Part D wasn't actually that bad but at the start, it was really weird to read but once you got over the mathy jargon of the concept, it wasn't too bad. Part C was also pretty good, and we got the answers and I only made one calculation error which is both good and bad. I kinda beat myself over it but honestly that SAC is only worth 5-10% of Unit 3 so I shouldn't worry :). We are now halfway through applications of derivatives which is pretty boring at the moment. I am super excited to go back to school for methods as it will be so much easier. My teacher also told us that we were supposed to have a SAC in another 3 weeks but it got moved back thankfully as I feel like we have not been learning much during remote learning.

Quote of the week for methods - "idk why i look sad I'm just not vibing w maths atm"

Further 3/4
We have almost finished Unit 3 which is super exciting :) Unit 4 is super duper short so we are probably going to finish it at the start of term 3ish?? My school has chosen to do the networks module which I am a lil disappointed about because I was excited to do matrices as I have learnt a bit of it in methods. However, my teacher said that networks was always a topic that people scored well in especially in the exam which is good :)

English Language 1/2
Ugh this subject is so boring atm. I thought I would really enjoy it but I find it pretty boring ngl. I got my marks back for two things and I am pretty happy w them.
Spoiler
I got a High for a HML for an essay on animal communication which is funny because I thought it was really bad but apparently not lol
I got 80% on my part 2 SAC which was on text analysis (at my school an 80 corresponds to an A which is pre g)

Chemistry 1/2
Chem is still going great of me which is nice. We have a test on stoich and covalent next week which I hope goes well.

French 1/2
We legit did nothing this week except watch a movie which was super fun. I need to start studying for my second outcome which is next week and I hope I do better than the practice outcome we did last week hahaha.

Accounting 1/2
I have finished all the content yay! I am super excited to finish the SAC and then move onto Unit 2 at my school. I haven't loved accounting this semester so I hope it is more exciting in Unit 2 otherwise I may change to another subject in 3/4 haha.

Hello everyone!

Long time no see. So so sorry for not updating this journal for like 3 weeks, I have been so busy with going back to school, work, and just figuring out life. I want to keep on being consistent but I am always super busy

The return back to school has been great. I love the school with just the year 11's and 12's, it's super calm and spacious and I am gonna be a bit sad when the rest come back. I feel like our year level has come together even more which is great and I love being able to have fun with pretty much anyone in the hallways.

Spoiler
So, I have actually not been doing so great. I have felt so overwhelmed with all my schoolwork, all the expectations, everything. I always feel like the effort I put in isn't enough and my scores which are still good aren't good enough. I feel like everyone can do more work than me and not be burnt out. I just don't feel like I am good enough.

I have also had a super hard time personally. I had some family stuff which has meant that I didn't get to do anything. I was honestly a complete wreck this week. I cried at school twice which I hated because I don't like everyone seeing me vulnerable. A huge shoutout to one of my friends who has been so supportive and just been there for me. I just want a bit of a break but we still have three more weeks until holidays. Sorry so much for being so negative but I just feel like I need to get this out.

Methods 3/4
Oooft methods is getting quite hard. We are about halfway through integration and I know it's just going to get harder yay. We had a progress test of differentiation which I didn't do too good in imo but I was still in the "good results" group of my class. I got 82 which isn't too bad but most of it was silly mistakes.

We also got our SAC results back and I am SO HAPPY! My "scaled" score (don't ask how that works because I don't know haha) was an A+ and I am so happy because that is like 22% of my study score so I think I can possibly get a 40 now  ;D

Further 3/4
Oh god, Further. We had our SAC on Wednesday for 2 hours and I felt really good after it. Flashforward to Thursday and I get an email that says that the SAC is now void!? So now I have to do a make-up SAC. I am so annoyed right now and it's just another thing that I have to keep thinking about. At least this SAC is only worth like 9% so it isn't as important as the Data Analysis SACs or Exam. Another annoying thing is we aren't allowed to get our first SACs back until the second SAC is done, so it can't even be revision  :(

We started networks yesterday and it seems pretty easy so that's nice.

English Language 1/2
Still don't like this subject too much. I don't find it interesting at all hahaha. I have a project on Child Language Acquisition due on Tuesday and I only just started it oop :-\ We also have a SAT in two weeks which is worth 80% of my AOS2 mark so I need to start studying. I really hope that 3/4 is more interesting because English has to be in the top 4 sadly :(

Chemistry
Chemistry, my only love. I have absolutely loved chemistry this year and it has really opened up some possible career options. I think we have finished Unit 1 (we cut out some content not relevant to 3/4 due to COVID which was nice). Organic chem is so fun once you understand everything, although I am a little sick of writing H's. Chemistry is pretty busy in the next three weeks. I have a practice exam, and then an AOS2 test, and then an exam! My school actually cancelled mid-year exams but some subjects still have them which is pretty annoying hahaha. I also got 88% on the stoich and covalent test which isn't too bad.

French 1/2
Nothing much is happening in French. I have a writing outcome in two weeks which I am not too nervous for however, it is imaginative which we have never done before. I have to do two writing pieces before Tuesday so good on me for procrastinating  ;)

Accounting 1/2
I finished the SAT and Unit 1! Now I am just waiting for them to start Unit 2 in school to join the class.

Thank-you for reading this entry! Hopefully I will update this next week.

Eloise  :)

Hey Eloise! ;D

Thank you so much for the journal update :). It's great to hear that you have been enjoying school and I hope you were able to have some fun with your friends while you guys have been back together.

Congrats for such an amazing score in Methods too! Give yourself a pat on the back for doing so well ;D. I absolutely believe that you will do amazing and keep that spirit up! Further SAC being void all of a sudden? Now that's something that you don't hear every day. Sounds terrible that you have to do a make-up SAC, but I'm positive that you will smash it!

Spoiler
Thank you for sharing this in your journal El. I know it's really hard to open up about this type of stuff and it is alright to feel overwhelmed here and there without sounding too negative. Sometimes you just feel like that no matter how much you do you are never good enough and it's really hard to get out of that mindset once you are in it. Try the very best you can in your situation, no one can ask you for any more than that. Just remember, you can do this and you will get through! I believe in you and I'm sure there are others out there that do too! Holidays are coming soon which means a proper break but in the meantime, it's good to just step out and take a mini-break before doing anything again.

(I just also want to add, I've also been crying at school because of family problems and just being overwhelmed by work. You are not in this alone.)

Hope you have a fantastic weekend Eloise!❤️

Hey Ash!

I hope that you have settled into school well too! I have loved being able to see my friends every day and actually talk when I'm in class. I hope that everything goes super great with all of your subjects, you can smash it!

In terms of further, yeah, it is really weird. I never thought that it would happen at my school, let alone on my first irl SAC! They haven't actually told us what happened but we all know, but I am not going to share that on here.

Spoiler
Thankyou for being so honest and welcoming. I was a bit afraid putting my life out there but your response has made my day :) Knowing that I am not the only one is very nice. If you ever need anything, feel free to dm me, I am always here for anyone. isn't crying at school the worst  :(

☆Bonjour tout le monde!☆

How is everyone? I have had a great week at school and I am excited to tell you all about it. Firstly, everyone at school is back now so it is as chaotic as ever! We love when younger kids scream for no reason ::). I feel like I have been back at school for months, and that 8 weeks of remote learning just didn't happen hahaha. I have been feeling a lot better mentally and physically and ready to smash out these last two weeks! I also discovered some new font colours which I will be using in this entry because I love colour!

This is a very long journal entry that took like an hour to write so sorry about that!

Methods 3/4
Methods is going pretty smoothly. I am very comfortable with my place in the cohort (equal rank 1) and I only know of one other person who I am equal with. I haven't been too behind but I want to start doing some exam-style questions because we have a Unit 3 practice exam in the last week.

Methods has gotten a lot better since we have gone back. I have one of my good friends in the class and we have a blast while still doing work. I feel like we will finish the course around week 4/5 of term 3 which is very good! I have one more SAC on calculus in term 3 then I am done with internal assessment! We don't have a SAC on probability which I am going to say is good because I have never been great at it lol.

Further 3/4
Networks, networks, networks how I love and hate you at the same time. We are nearly halfway through networks which means halfway through Unit 4! Ridiculously we are going to finish the course at the very start of term 3 so we have AGES to do exam revision. I am really excited to start exam revision  ;D

The make-up SAC was ok. It was very badly worded for one question and for a bit I had lost all hope for a 45+. However, discussing with others has made me realise that I wasn't the only one and a few got the same answer so I am praying it is right !

English Language
Unit 1 content is done! I have a SAT on Tuesday that is worth 80% of my AOS2 mark. I am quite confident with some areas and have absolutely no clue with other areas (I'm looking at you manner and place of articulation!) I submitted my assessment for the other 20% and I don't think it is too great but I think I included everything necessary and considering the circumstances and that I completed it in like 2 days I am fine with it.

I really didn't like this topic while learning it but it is actually interesting to study. This has been a recurring theme in English Language but at least I don't mind studying it because that is a big part in my grades!

Chemistry 1/2
Unit 1 content is done! I have an AOS 2 test on Tuesday and an exam next week! I feel pretty ready for it. I am still loving chemistry so yay!

French 1/2
Nothing much is happening in French as always hahaha. We have a written outcome this week which I feel pretty good for because we do lots of writing and I have consistently being getting 17-19/20. We get a dictionary and 2 hours so no stress!

Random extra stuff
Lots of stuff has been going on outside of academics. I am most likely doing House Music and Drama next term which will be 4 nights of rehearsals but I think it will actually help me be more productive! Netball may also be going back next term. I am also looking to apply for a job which I am super excited for!

Goals and 2021
As it is nearly half-way through the year so I want to state some of my goals for Unit 2 and 4 and next year.
Methods 3/4 : 41+. Quite a random goal but I feel like it is somewhat achievable due to my Unit 3 SAC scores. This scales to about a 46 which is great.
Further 3/4 : 46+. Another random goal but again I feel like it is achievable. I want to aim to minimise the amount of silly mistakes I make due to the amount fo exam revision time I will get.
English Language 1/2 : 80%+. I have been getting better results than last year and I hope this can continue. For 3/4, I am hoping for a 40+ as it has to be in my top 4!
Chemistry 1/2 : 90%+. I have been getting very good results this year in chem and I have been genuinely enjoying the subject. For 3/4, I am hoping for a 42+.
French 1/2 : 80%+. I have been quite consistent this year so I want to stay consistent and improve. For 3/4, I am hoping for a 36+.

I am having a little bit of a dilemma for my fourth subject. I am doing accounting 1/2 right now but I haven't really enjoyed Unit 1 (through VSV) so I don't know if I want to continue it. If I don't continue, I have decided I want to do P.E 3/4 as it seems pretty interesting. I need to make a decision soon haha.

That's all for today! Thanks for reading.

Eloise :)

Hey hey El! ;D

Love the new journal update! (Woah there is so much going on).
Great to see that you have been taking time to have fun outside the academic life (netball is awesome btw). Also, yes to getting a job (gotta get that $$$ and experience~)

I just want to say how extremely proud I am of you and keep up the amazing work El! (A total inspiration🥺). If Accounting isn't your cup of tea and you find it unengaging maybe switching to P.E might be good? (You have plenty of time to think about it don't worry. Pick what you think you will enjoy the most!). Good luck for your upcoming SACs and I'm pretty positive you will be smashing them 8)

Hope you have an amazing and wonderful week El🥰

Dang 2 maths subjects as your 3/4s. I can't imagine doing more than 1 maths subject. In terms of your last subject, you've still got quite a bit of time to decide. Since it seems like you're enjoying Chem, you might also want to consider Biology, Psychology and possibly HHD on top of PE. Bio is probs the hardest out of the bunch but it's an interesting subject. Psych is great because it's mostly sciency related with bits of ethics and humanity mixed in and it's fairly simple and very interesting. Heard HHD is pretty easy however scaling isn't too great so maybe that may or may not turn you away.

Bonjour El!
Congrats on first rank in methods, that's amazing! Sounds like your 3/4 SACs have gone pretty well and I'm loving your positivity  8)

It's a really good idea to drop accounting U1 considering you don't like it and pick up PE. I had two friends that picked up PE this year (for 3/4) and they have said it isn't too hard so I'd say go for it! Although like ThunderDragon said you could always consider Bio, but I have heard it is a little trickier compared to PE.

I love the goals and getting a job is a great idea! Honestly, it is so much easier to be productive when you have a lot on (with your rehearsals it sounds like you do  ;)) good luck for applying.

Have an awesome week!

Hey hey El!

Thanks so much ash🥺🥺. Your kind words and positivity mean so much! Thanks for the advice and I hope you smash your SACs too! Remember we are half way there (more for me, 8 SACs done and 2 more to go) and you are such an inspiration to me to🥰🥰🥰

Dang 2 maths subjects as your 3/4s. I can't imagine doing more than 1 maths subject.
Yes, 2 maths 3/4s haha. Not how I thought it would end up but I do not regret it at all. If you had told me last year I would be doing two maths subjects I would have just laughed

In terms of your last subject, you've still got quite a bit of time to decide. Since it seems like you're enjoying Chem, you might also want to consider Biology, Psychology and possibly HHD on top of PE. Bio is probs the hardest out of the bunch but it's an interesting subject. Heard HHD is pretty easy however scaling isn't too great so maybe that may or may not turn you away.
Thanks a lot and I will definitely take this into consideration 8) Our subject selections are actually due on the 24th of July (so close ??? so I need to make somewhat of a decision!)

OMG a reply from chocolatemilkshake🥺. Thanks so much! I was hoping for a slightly "easier" fourth subject as it is most likely be in my bottom 2. Would love to try out PE Unit 2 but my school only offers 3/4 unfortunately :(. I would love to love bio like you (50 and prems woowwwww) but I don't think I do sadly.

I love the goals and getting a job is a great idea! Honestly, it is so much easier to be productive when you have a lot on (with your rehearsals it sounds like you do  ;)) good luck for applying.
I feel so much more productive when I have things on. I think next term I will have something every day which will be tough but will help my time management so much!

Thanks for all you good wishes and I hope for the best for you too!🥰

1 WEEK LEFT!

Hello everyone! How are y'all? Welcome to this chaotic journal haha! Another pretty good week, I'm very excited to tell you all about it.

This is also my 100th post on AN so yay for that! I love this community and I can safely say I am addicted to the forums oops ahah

Methods 3/4
Wow I actually started doing revision for my exam on Wednesday! I have done 5 practice exams and have been doing decently (around 80%) so I hope to get a couple more in and some more specific revision on things I struggle with (I am looking at you general solutions, trig graphs with translations and differential applications).

I have started to enjoy this subject again so YAY! I really enjoy doing practice exams (I know... weird) and my aim for term 3 is to do at least 1 a week (maybe even more if I don't have many assessments). I am getting more and more optimistic about the chance of getting a 40 so wish me luck please :)

Further 3/4
Me no happy. We got our SACs back on Thursday and I am not happy to say the least. We got our void SAC back (which doesn't count to anything) and guess what. I got 100. This is the first time since year 9 (and probably on the second time in my life) that I have gotten 100 on a maths test. So I was actually a bit optimistic about the second one. And I get it back and realise I lost 3 marks. 37/40 or 92.5%. Now if this was any other subject I would be very happy, but not for a further SAC. I am hoping my ranking isn't too effected (thank god for the A+ on Data Analysis). I am also really annoyed because they were all silly mistakes ahhhh. Well anyway, it is done now and all I can do it revise for the end of year exam which matters WAY more!

Also, I have a practice exam 1 + 2 this week which I have not done a whole lot for. I am done some checkpoints but I have been focusing on methods because I am decently confident I can get a decent score without too much study and since it isn't a SAC and isn't going on my report who really cares hahaha. I think I can get 80+ easily tho so yay.

English Language
Ok, so the SAT wasn't great. I know I messed up a 4-marker because it was on AOS1 hahaha and I think I defs lost some marks from the last page (only 3 but still) but I am hoping I can pull a 70+. I want an 80+ but I am being optimistic hahaha. I am glad to move onto unit 2 because that is 1 step closer to not doing English ever again!!

Chemistry 1/2
AOS 2 test wasn't too bad, a couple of the questions were weird (drawing skeletal formulas which we have never done, only read them), but overall I reckon I can get an A+. For the Unit 1 exam, I have done all of my schools practice exams and 2 company ones, but the company ones differ a lot so I may just revise the incorrect questions because its only a Unit 1 exam and I am decently confident in my chem abilites.

We also started on Unit 2 which has graced me with thermodynamics AKA the last thing I did before physics. Luckily this part isn't too bad and is only a small part so I can persevere.

French 1/2
Writing Outcome was good. A weirdish text type (a written presentation to year 7 french speaking students) but I feel like my writing was good. We could even draw some pictures so that was fun hahaha. I'm 99% sure I went way over the word limit but I don't think my teacher will mind. We all finished like 45mins early so our whole class went outside and just talked. This reminded me about how much I love my French class bahahaha. Definitely my favourite class.

Accounting
Accounting isn't too bad! I have joined my school's class and it seems pretty interactive and cool. I don't particularly enjoy the content and I am more leaning towards PE for next year but we will see how it goes!

Other stuff
I'm still trying to figure out my commitments for next term (I haven't done too much this year due to corona and my shoulder) but I am excited to get back into things in term 3.

I also got an email saying I am getting my house colours which I am really happy about. I have committed a lot to my house especially in the last year and a half and getting recognised for it is super cool! At my school, house colours get a coloured strip across the top of the blazer pocket so I am super excited because it looks really good so my blazer is ready for a glow up!

I JUST REMEMBERED I have forgotten to put this in here for three weeks but I got glasses hahaha. I only kinda need them but they have helped get rid of my headaches and I like the way they look so yay!

Spoiler
Ok so I know I am only year 11 but I want to kinda update you all on university stuff for me. At the start of this year, I was considering either science or business courses but now I am pretty set on a STEM course. However, I don't really know what.
Right now, I have two main ideas/career paths in mind. Physio and Pharmacy.
Physio - I love sports and science (especially chemistry) so I feel like this career could work well for me. I would love to specialise in sports injuries and my dream would be to be the physiotherapist of the Australia Diving or Netball team. In terms of courses, this one actually provides me with more flexibility as there is a graduate program at Melbourne Uni, where I would do a general course first. For this, I would aim for a 98!+ to get guaranteed entry and get to the Doctor of Physio through a Bachelor of Science at Melbourne Uni. If I didn't get 98, I could also try out after I finish my course. Additionally, if I decide I don't want to become a physio I can just finish the undergrad course and move onto another career path.
Pharmacy - I LOVE chemistry and have a few family members in the industry. I feel like the undergraduate course would be interesting (Pharmacy or pharmaceutical science, I don't know the difference haha) and I feel like I can see myself in the career. However, there is no post-graduate options that I can find (if there are any that have a bachelor of science of similar as a requirement PLEASE let me know! This means that I have to decide what I want to do straight after year 12 which isn't what I want because I am so indecisive.

I am looking also at other courses that are STEM, such as nutrition and chiro and other courses. LaTrobe has some great health courses and I really don't know what I want to do.

If anyone has any suggestions for someone who enjoys science (particularly chemistry) maths, french (random ahah) and sport, please let me know!

Thanks all for reading!

Congratulations on 100 posts, that's awesome! I know what you mean by wanting flexibility when it comes to picking what you want to do. I think that's why I lean towards the BSci so much... Although i'm looking more at pharmsci, Monash does offer post grad pharmacy. However, I believe you have to come in from a monash undergrad degree, but i'm not quite sure.

Have a look at their webinar that they did for 2020 entry where they talk about the options to getting in:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hsF7sOVsCs

You can also check out the course guild which also goes into a lot of depth on post grad pharmacy:
https://www.monash.edu/__data/assets/pdf_file/0005/2178950/2021-PPS-Domestic-UG-courseguide.pdf

But i'm the same, I generally want a career heavy in chem, but I love food as well, so i've personally been looking a Dietetics, food technology, but also biochem since I love some microbio. Good luck with the search, and enjoy the last week of term!

Hey El!🥰🥰

(WOOHOO LET'S GET PUMPED THERE IS ONLY A WEEK TO GO!)
Congrats for your 100th post El! Massive achievement alone and we absolutely love having you in this beautiful AN community.

Well done on the amazing scores for your Further SAC and I love your determination for Methods. (I'm so inspired every time I read your journal). I 100% believe in you that you will achieve your goals in these subjects and I am so proud of you. (Also great to hear you are enjoying French so much!! ;D)

Get that glow-up for your blazer!!🤣I must say a good pinch of colour here and there can make your blazer look top-notch.

Spoiler
Whoop Whoop it's a future life update! I love reading about other people's inspiration and especially your passions El. It's great to see you are exploring your options and taking the time to really look at each area of interest that you may go into in the future. (I must say, hearing you talk about Physio/Pharmacy/Health sciences is very inspiring on its own and I'm positive as time goes on you will become more certain of what you want to pursue). It's totally ok to not know what you want to do, but as your interests grow, you most certainly will find something that appeals to you!
Thank you for the lovely update El and have a great week!

Edit: Geoo has some super good websites linked that would be very beneficial to look into :D

Hey :)

For pharmsci you might want to check out insanipi's uni journey journal and for physio k888.

Re: chem. chem & physics having different constants for thermo was the most confusing thing for me there so watch out for that.

Good luck for your assessments and congrats on house colours!

Thanks so much, Ashmi! I love this community so much. I hope that my scores for further can get me anywhere near your amazing score! French is the best class ever, its so chill and nice and not competitive. I am defs not rank 1 but who cares when you are having fun!

Get that glow-up for your blazer!!🤣I must say a good pinch of colour here and there can make your blazer look top-notch.
I never called it this til my friend who already has her colours said it and I was like yes, a glow up for your blazer! Will definitely be posting a photo when I get it done!

Also thanks so much for the future help, I hope you have an amazing week!

Thanks so much Bri MT! I am legit honoured that you replied haha. I have checked out these amazing resources and I will make use of them. And thanks for the chem help, will definitely use it ahah.

~MINI MID WEEK UPDATE~

This week is so packed but has felt so slow! I swear it is already Fridayyyyyy.

I got some results back which I am very happy with :) I got my French writing back and I got a 13/15 which is good. My teacher is pretty harsh but I have been consistently in the A zone which is where I want to be. My scores for my three French outcomes have been 85%, 86.7% and another 86.7% so nice and consistent. Considering I don't put too much work into this subject (will regret next year ahah) I have been doing remarkably well. I am definitely not rank 1 in my class but I am not last but I have such a STRONG class so I am happy sitting in the middle. I think 1 person might be dropping it next year (also the BEST person in our class so I don't know why she is ahah) but our class is so littt. We are watching the most hilarious movie so yay for that!

I got a 90 on my chem which is v exciting and fun! The average was 77 but my teacher said the usual average for other years is 60 so my class is doing pretty well lol. I have my exam on Thursday which I haven't done a whole lot for but I think I will be good.

Now just stressing about my 4 exams this week aha

Another fun thing that happened today was that I got an email saying I have been selected for the Olympic Changemaker Award which basically is a prestigious sports award. It was open to 10-12 and I am very surprised that I (alongside the sweetest year12) got the award!

Hi Choco (sorry for the late reply lmao)! I do netball and diving as my main sports but I am also hoping to possibly do volleyball and athletics next term!

All good! They really are great for a base line in info in what pharmsci or pharmacy could lead to, and how to get in, so i'm glad you found them as useful as I did. I'm not quite sure what i'm going to do next year, but I have narrowed it down to a BSci or PharmSci, I guess I just need to do a bit more research into what each can lead. In terms of BSci though, I would probably major in chem and a bio science, but I have always wanted to study a language (mandarin, russian or spanish), so that will also be a factor. Good luck on exploring what you want to do, it can be tough to choose!
Also, congratulations on those scores! A 90% for chem is amazing, you should be so proud of yourself!

Term 2 + Semester 1 Wrap ✰

Sorry for the little wait but I am back with an update! My first semester of VCE has been nothing but crazy, and this term has been quite the journey, navigating remote learning, going back to school, SAC's and everything else to do with school.

Methods 3/4
Methods has arguably been the biggest rollercoaster of this year. Remote learning was tough, the content is really hard, but I have gotten through it pretty well. I actually like the subject at the moment but probability will be the bane of my existence. My friend and I watched the ATARNotes lecture and I did NOT understand anything hahaha.

Semester Score Recap:
SAC 1 (Unit 3) - A+ (I don't know my actual score as my school gives out standardised scores because our SAC's are very difficult but I think it was around 85%)
Progress Reviews - Ranged from 70% (NEAP Circular Functions) to 100%
Unit 3 Exam 1 - 87%
Rank - I don't know ranks (my school doesn't give them out) but I am pretty sure I am in the top 5 (of about 50 in a strong cohort)

We have our Unit 3 Exam 2 next term and SAC 2 in week 3 then it is finishing content and exams !

I am aiming for a 40 in this subject which may be a stretch but I hope it's possible :)

Further 3/4
Considering I picked up this subject in week 3 term 1, I have really enjoyed further this year. I find the content really easy but actually interesting. This subject went well throughout remote learning and I have been pretty consistent with my scores. We are in the middle of the networks module but I really don't like it so after out SAC (in week 4) I am planning on learning the graphs and relations module (I've looked at most of it on edrolo and it seems pretty easy and weirdly fun lol).

Semester Score Recap:
SAC 1 (Data Analysis) - A+ (I don't know my actual score as my school doesn't give them out but I think it was around 95%)
SAC 2 (Recursion and Finance) - 93% (so sad because I could have gotten 100%)
Unit 3 Exam 1 - 87% (didn’t study hahaha so those 3 marks were probably stupid mistakes)
Rank - I don't know ranks (my school doesn't give them out) but I am pretty sure I am in the top 5 (of about 50 in a very strong cohort)

I am aiming for a 45+ in this subject but I really want a 50, not sure if it's possible with my SAC scores but I don't know my rank so I don't know.

English Language 1/2
Oh English Language, how I can NOT wait until the exam next year! It’s a lot better than normal English however I still don’t like it hahaha. I like my teacher, but not the subject. I want to start actually working for this subject because it has to be in my top 4 and proving myself that I can do English.

Semester Score Recap:
AOS1 Grammar Test - 97%
AOS1 Text Analysis - 80%
AOS2 Creative Task - A+
AOS2 Short Answer and Text Analysis - A

Chemistry 1/2
My favourite subject! I was not expecting to like this subject so much when starting this year but I do. I was originally doing it just for pre-reqs but now it is a bit of a passion subject. Unit 1 was so interesting and I cannot wait to move forward. We also have such a good chemistry department at my school which is great for 3/4 :)

Semester Score Recap:
AOS1 Elements and Bonding - A+
AOS2 Covalent and Organic - A+
AOS3 Research Task - A+
Unit 1 Exam - A+

French 1/2
My chillest subject. I feel like I am one of the minority saying that my LOTE subject is actually my easiest subject hahaha. I love my class and the subject is very fun and interesting.

Semester Score Recap:
Writing - A
Listening - A
Reading - A
Speaking - A

Accounting
Oh gosh this subject is a lil bit of a mess. I really don’t like it and have pretty much decided to drop it (as you can see by my bio). VSV was not great and I find the subject really boring and unengaging.

Semester Score Recap:
The thing is, I didn’t get any actual results. My VSV report didn’t have grades on it even though it was supposed to and legit had the space for it. I emailed my teacher and they haven’t resolved the problem but they did get back to me which is nice!

Other stuff
Sport and Rehab
I started rehab for my shoulder and I am glad to say that I am officially cleared from physio and can play sport. Unfortunately, COVID has basically stopped all sports so that’s great. The only sport that I have done this year is diving, which I coached my school’s diving team and was School Diving Captain :)

Also, as House Sports Captain this year we have had a few things. House Aths was in February and we came second and won the spirit stick :). We also had Remote House Cross Country which went pretty well and we also came second and won the spirit stick again.

House Stuff
Apart from House Aths and Cross Country, the only other house event was Debating. I participated for the lols but it was actually quite fun. My house won the inter and senior finals and I won best speaker for both debates which is fun! I also got House Colours which is fun hahaha

Holiday Update
These holidays have been pretty chill, which was my aim. I have caught up with friends a couple times, with a highlight being going to St Kilda Beach when it was 12 degrees and we stayed in the water for a grand total of 6 minutes. I only had 1 small accounting task for holiday homework and I have been doing some Unit 3 revision for methods and further. I have also done a little bit of preparation for my last 2 SACs in week 3 and 4. I am pretty sad about lockdown but at least the 11s and 12s can go to school which would be nice, and the school will be quiet.

I also got a new double bed which makes my room feel so much bigger (I used to have a king single) and got fun LED lights haha. I have also somehow re-bingewatched pretty much the entire 7 seasons of Brooklyn 99, my fav show ;)

Spoiler
After reading Ashmi's Journal and some other things, as well as Instagram ads hahaha, I have decided that I want to at least apply for the NYSF program for 2021. I think it will be fun and maybe "replace" my French exchange as a holiday before year 12. Any quick tips for a good application (it's due in 8 days whoop), please let me know)

Sorry for the long update but I hope you enjoyed my little recap!

Hey Eloise! It's great to see you chilled on the holidays - we all need a break from studying. Also, looking at your scores, you've done extremely well so far - keep it up! It's great you can finally play sport again too, I guess opportunities are restricted because of COVID but at least you're all clear. :) Also yesss - B99 is one of my fave shows too! It's one of the og's.

All the best for term 3 and beyond!

19 JULY 2020 UPDATE

Back to school! The first 3 days back were arguably the weirdest school days I have ever experienced. Half of my year level wearing masks, super fancy robot temperature scanners, singular desks. I cannot wait until COVID dies down and we can FINALLY go back to some sense of normality. I am not looking forward to the following weeks having to continue to distance and wear masks. I have absolutely no clue how I am going to do house music rehearsals where I legit have to sInG with a mask? We will find out..

Work wise this week has been pretty chill, let's get onto specific subjects!

Methods 3/4
We had our Unit 3 Exam 2 on Friday and it was a complete mess. There were 4 mistakes in the paper and one of them was found with 10 minutes to go and it could have costed us like 13 marks which is ridiculous. The questions were so hard and not really VCAA style so I am not very happy. At least the MCQ were ok...

Our SAC 2 is next Wednesday so I need to get a wriggle on with studying!

Further 3/4
I officially hate Networks so much. I wish I didn't have to do a SAC on it but once the SAC is done in week 5 I am never doing a Networks question again! I have decided that I will do the graphs module as I have looked at the whole edrolo and I find it fun and interesting. I also got my Unit 3 Exam 2 back and I got an A which is ok for no study but I want to improve for the end of the year!

Other
I applied for NYSF which is fun!

Sorry that this update is so short but I hope you enjoy!
Eloise  ;)

Interesting to hear about the temperature scanners, do they stop people from coming in if it's too high?

Singing with a mask on sounds interesting... hopefully there's not too much change from it

Good luck for your SAC and NYSF!

Interesting to hear about the temperature scanners, do they stop people from coming in if it's too high?

Yes, if you continuously scan over a certain temperature you have to sit in the health centre and be taken home I think. The remote temperature scanners are very high tech although they are often quite inaccurate, especially if you have been sitting outside in the sun! We get our temperatures done at the start of the day and wear a sticker to indicate if we were under the required temperature. It is a pretty good system and doesn't take too much time (at least at the time I go to school) and hopefully these measures along with masks and social distancing help us control the spread of COVID

its eloisegrace's journal here with another messy update as per usual!

super duper stressed for my methods sac this week on wednesday! it is only worth 12% and i feel like i will either do very well or really bad hahaha. i feel a bit better about it than i did last week though because i got 89% on my exam 2 which is the highest i know of and it was a very hard test with like 6 mistakes in the paper so yay!

further is pretty chill, we have one more exercise of networks to go until we are finished and then i will pump out some sac revision. i really want to aim high for this sac to maintain a good rank which will help me for exams because further is so competitive. after the sac in 2 weeks i want to try and get the graphs/relations section of the cambridge textbook done asap so i can get started on practice exams so i can give myself the best shot for a 45+!

something i am excited about for this term is that i am dropping accounting 1/2! i am not picking up another unit 2 subject and i will do pe 3/4 next year. i am happy to get the study periods which will be nice esp cos i am doing 2 3/4s.

another good thing about hopefully getting another set of study periods is that it will give me some relief from studying in the afternoons. i am involved in house drama, dance AND music this term so i have 2-4 afterschool rehearsals per week until the end of term. i am super excited for all of these though and the rehearsals have been so fun. for music, we are signing someone in the crowd from la la land which is really fun and for drama i am only in one scene but i am w one of my best friends which is fun :) :).

mandatory masks are going ok and i am looking at the positives during this tough time. at least i can go to school and see my good friends and kick around a footy w them  :D

hope u enjoyed this messy update

Hi Eloise,
Great to see an update! All the best for the methods sac. You’ve put in the hard work and I’m sure it will pay off! Good luck  8)

I can’t believe your school lets you have free periods in year 11 (lucky!). That will definitely be useful for preparing for your 3/4s.

Musical rehearsals (and all the other stuff you’re involved in) sound super fun. So you’re allowed to gather together to rehearse or are they online sometimes? Either way it’s great and gives you a good break from school (and the COVID situation).

Have a great week and good luck again for the sac, you’ll smash it!

Hey El!🥰🥰

Love the new update (and I'm so late to this but YES to NYSF!) and good luck for your upcoming SACs! I'm pretty sure you will be fine and as CM has already said, your hard work will pay off.

Those study periods sure do sound super nice (who doesn't love a good amount of free time?) and you sure do sound busy with the number of rehearsals that are going on this term (it must be really hard trying to social distance in that situation. What is your fav out of drama, music and dance?)

Thanks for the journal update El and I'm looking forward to seeing another one in the future!❤️️

Hey Choco! I hope you have had a great week too! In terms of free periods, most year 11s get 4-5 per fortnight (depending on if they are doing 1 or 2 3/4 subjects) and a few have another set (8) if they are either doing one less subject or a subject outside of school. I love frees as they break up my day and I can also come late or leave early!

Musical rehearsals (and all the other stuff you’re involved in) sound super fun. So you’re allowed to gather together to rehearse or are they online sometimes? Either way it’s great and gives you a good break from school (and the COVID situation).

In terms of music, drama, and dance, the year 11s and 12s are allowed to rehearse together while the year 7-10s use zoom. It works really well for drama but music is a little hard. For dance my section is only 11s and 12s which makes it pretty easy! It is looking like the actual performances will be online video type, so we will see how that goes!

Thanks for the luck for the sac, i need it hahaha <3

I think House Music is my favourite. We have such a cute y11 squad who can actually rehearse and our song is really good and is sounding really nice after only a few rehearsals❤️️ I also love drama as we have lots of laughs and I am only in one scene which isn't much pressure ahaha. It is pretty hard to socially distance and you just forget sometimes but I am trying my best

I hope you have an amazing week ash🥰

Mini Update:
Yes I only updated yesterday but I am very excited to have actually dropped accounting so now I have more study periods which is GREAT :). Another fun thing my school has introduced is Free Dress Fridays going on for the duration of yr7-10 remote learning so yay for comfy clothes Fridays (no annoying shirt or uncomfy school shoes).

Long time no see!

Hello everyone! Sorry for the long break and apologises for the probably messy update!

Methods 3/4
Ok so the SAC was pretty hard! At least that was general consensus and I answered every question so yay! Methods zoom is a nightmare but probability isn't too bad at the moment! I know it will get harder but I am surviving so farish. I want to go back to school SO BAD for the fact that methods needs to be taught in a classroom imo. Anyway, I want to start doing practice exams soonish to smash lots out before the exams! I actually feel pretty good score wise with this subject and I think I could possibly get maybe a 44?
Days until Methods Exam 1: 100
Days until Methods Exam 2: 101

Further 3/4
Networks is the death of me at times! I feel ok about the SAC and I am hoping that it isn't too hard. After this, I want to smash out the linear chapter and move onto practice exams to minimise mistakes and aim for that 50! (aiming high but expecting like 44 haha).
Days until Further Exam 1: 96
Days until Further Exam 2: 99

I have been so so busy these past couple of weeks omg! I have had lots of applications and other stuff and the whole lockdown just taking over me!

Spoiler
Not going to lie this lockdown has been pretty rough. I am such an extrovert and I need people to be energised. I hate being stuck in my own house with only my parents around me. When lockdown was announced I really did not handle it well but I realised its ok to not be ok. I am feeling a lot better and I have had a few friend group zooms and I went for a walk with a friend today (socially distanced and wearing masks of course :) )💙

Thanks for reading!
Eloise ❤️️

EDIT: I wanted to give a massive shoutout to the many new journals I have seen! I'm so so sorry that I haven't replied but I am very happy to see some more class of 21 journals ;D

Well done on your SAC, you put in a lot of effort and did your best, so whatever result you get you should be proud of yourself.  :) Can relate with the practice exams, I finished the textbook a while ago but I haven't really started practice exams because I've been held up with SACs.

Absolute MOOODD. I'm very extroverted as well and I can't stand being locked up at home; I'm constantly bugging friends to chat, I openly invited them to spam me with any maths questions they are having trouble with just so I can talk about something.  ;D It's good that you've been able to catch up with some people though, even if it's only briefly.
Do look after yourself and best of luck for the upcoming week!

Thank you for replying! I hope you have done well in your SACs and let's get going on practice exams. It is so good to see people and I cannot wait until school is back again!

Long time no see 2.0

Hello everybody! I hope everyone has had a wonderful week. This week has been very busy for me and I sure think it has been the same for all of you :)

Methods 3/4
I'm very excited to say that we have almost finished the content! About halfway through the Normal Distribution, so we will hopefully finish it by next week. I don't like probability but I feel as though the questions are not as challenging (esp. extended response questions). We also got our SAC 2 (Calculus) back and I got 85% which I was extremely surprised with and so happy with  ;D My school makes very hard SACs because we are a very high achieving school and they need to separate the ranks. I'm not sure about my rank but I feel as though I am top 5 out of 50. I think I am on track to getting a 40 and hopefully a 45? Anything about 40 I am happy with. With two very good SAC results (A+ and 85) I believe anything is possible  :)

Further 3/4
Finished the content! I need to write my bound reference for linear and relations and then start on practice exams! Further is definitely my favourite subject at the moment :). The Networks SAC was very good and even though I felt the least prepared going into it it was the best SAC. I got my result back a couple of days ago and I got 100%. A good ending and hopefully this has helped me maintain or raise to a good rank.

Eng Lang 1/2
Nothing much happening in this subject at the moment. I have a SAT next week which I need to start studying for but I have somehow been getting very good marks in English this year so I'm not too :)

Chemistry 1/2
This subject is very interesting at the moment. Yes it is getting a lot harder but I'm glad my marks haven't been going down. I got 92% on a test for solubility and concentration :). Today we even did a prac at home! It was a pretty simple experiment about pH but it was fun haha.

French 1/2
Year 12 me is going to regret the little amount of work I do for this subject. It's pretty boring on remote but I did another Outcome and got another 86.7% hahaha. I have another one next week so let's hope I can still do pretty well :)

I hope this entry was an enjoyable read!

homeworkisapotato 🥔
I can't believe you binged this ENTIRE journal haha thankyou! I try to be as positive on here  :) Here is the update you wished for hopefully you like it!
J_Rho🥰
Omg a reply from J_Rho Thank you so much!! That gif brings me so much joy haha. I hope you are doing well x

Hello everyone... I don't want to say long time no see 3.0 but I would be lying if i said anything otherwise 😂. I am SO sorry for not being very active on this journal recently, I thought I was going to have a relaxing end of term but this term has proven otherwise. I have done so much that I can't tell you as of yet and of course VCE!! In the holidays I want to be super active on here and hopefully that will continue into term 4 :)

Positive Update: I have been doing really well these past couple of weeks  ;D My mental health wasn't too flash hot for a lil while but now I am back to an even happier Eloise ❤️ I am so fortunate to be able to still get a great education and use social media to catch up with my friends and even see a couple in real life. I hope everyone is doing well  :D

Now onto subject specific stuff:

Methods 3/4
Methods oh methods. How I love and hate you. We have officially finished the content and are ready to commence some solid exam revision on the holidays. We did a probability test that I didn't study for (I had so many other more important things at that time) and I got one off full marks! And the mistake I mad was I couldn't subtract fractions in my head (didn't even look over my paper I just turned it in and left because I was stressed about this other thing ahahah). I am planning to get around 20 Exam 1s done and about 30 Exam 2s (I'm not sure if i am being over ambitious but with lockdown it could be possible?) but after early October I want to stick to VCAA to get the best study. I am really proud of how far I have come in methods but I won't be too sad when it is finished in 72 days :)
happyish rant
So we had parent teachers and I was talking to my teacher about methods (way to state the obvious eloise) and my mum asked what rank I was. I don't think she was supposed to tell me but she said I was just "pipped at the post" for the subject award (dux before vcaa exams) which is annoying but also good ?! This means I am rank 2 or 3 in a strong cohort and my teacher said she thinks that I will get at least a 40 which i am so happy about because that was my long term goal. I just want to know who beat me for dux hahaha  ???

Further 3/4
Further has been super chill as always haha. We have started practice exams and I have done about 6 so far but for some reason I am making lots of silly mistakes? This isn't good for further lol but I hope it will improve with practice but this little rocky start to revision has hindered my confidence ever so slightly. I really want to get a 45 in this subject and there is still a possibility I could get dux (my teacher wouldn't say anything but I exceeded his expectations especially because I entered the course so late). I hope to do around 25 of each Exam which hopefully isn't too ambitious but I hope to get a solid chunk done in the holidays.

English Language 1/2
Oh English how I wish you were not compulsory. We had our SAT on the history of English and I think I went ok (two of the questions I left for the last 5 minutes and made up rubbish but hopefully I will get some marks haha). We haven't gotten our results back but my teacher told me at parent teacher interviews that I got within the A/A+ range like my other assessments which is good. I really hope I get the same teacher next year as I really think she will boost my SS to fingers crossed a 40!

Chemistry 1/2
Acids and Bases and Redox will be the death of me! I have my AOS1 test tomorrow and I didn't start studying early so I have basically been cramming content and spamming practice questions. Those who are on the study checklist page will see my long lists of chemistry. I am still enjoying this subject overall but boy oh boy acids and bases and redox are challenging. It's annoying they are in 3/4 but I think I have a decent understanding of them after strenuous study.

Mundane Life Update: My mouse on my MacBook Pro just disappears every 10 seconds and the only way I can get it back is to right click which is SO ANNOYING. Any tips would be greatly appreciated xo

I hope you enjoyed this segments of eloisegrace's busy life!

I am so appreciative of all 4000 of you readers🥰

WOO another update!
It's great your mental health is positive again, you're such an inspiration. AMAZING JOB in methods, god imagine even being runner up in methods! What a queen. Nothing is too ambitious, what stops us from achieving great things is us, so you can do it and finish 50 exams and get a 45! All the best and can't wait until the next update  ;D

~ Update 107 (jks) ~

Hello everyone! Welcome to my little messy journal and welcome back for the real ones who have been following my journey for a while now :). I am so sorry for not updating for like a month, it has been such a busy month and my life has been a hectic one!

potato 🥔
Thank you so much for reading my journal and ALWAYS updating 🥰. Your positivity and comment really did make my day and help motivate me. I wish you the best for biology and I am certain you will get 45+, heck even a 50! 8)
almaria
Hey almaria, thank you so much for binging this ENTIRE journal :) :). I cannot wait to follow your journey and I'm glad you like my positivity, i try ❤️

This lockdown has been hard, it's been bloody long (at least 9 weeks but no one is counting..... right) and I cannot wait to finally see my friends tomorrow, most of which I haven't seen in real life since school locked down (we love when your friends live super far away). Mental health has been a little bit rocky but I have really been working on self care in the past couple of weeks 😊. Life has been going so slow yet so fast (I can't believe there is only 1 more term left until I am in year 12  :o). I also cannot believe that my first exam is in 38 days !!!!! AHHHHHHHHH

Onto my subjects:

Methods✰
Content ✅ SACs ✅ Bound Reference ✅ (ish, still needs examples but close enough) and now onto practice exam questions. Exam 1s are going ok, I have been making a lot of stupid mistakes but I haven't done any under timed conditions. Exam 2s are kicking my butt though (Ashmi, how did you say that you enjoyed these... please teach me your ways). My marks range so so much on these but again I hope to improve with timed conditions. I've done like 20 exams so far (all as like worksheets) and I need to really go through and target my weaknesses. For Exam 1 I am getting around 80-95ish on each and For Exam 2 I am getting around 70-85ish. Pretty good, I need to improve for a 44 but I feel like I will scrape a 40 at least with my high SAC ranking.

Any methods exam revision tips would be appreciated :)

Further✰
My one true love, further maths. Doing exams is kinda therapeutic if I'm gonna be completely honest, because I understand all the content really well (a lot better than methods if I'm gonna be honest). Again, lots of stupid mistakes but I have noticed a reduction in them so I am hoping for them to go down to 0 before the actual exam in 38 days  >:( ???. I've done like 20 exams again so far and only a few under timed conditions and I am getting around 85-95 for each exam. I really want a 45+ (deep down a 47) but right now I'm more tracking towards low-mid 40s. Gotta keep on grinding for that high score :)

Any further exam revision tips would be appreciated :)

English Language✰
Not much to say for this, I got a 93% on my last SAT and I have an essay due next week that I need to finish (only 1/3 through and I've had the essay for a month, whoops!) Not really enjoying this subject but it is bareable so yeah  :P

Chemistry✰
Gives further a run for its money for my favourite subject. AOS 1 was a success, I really enjoyed the acid-base and redox topic in the end and I got a 97% on the final test so go me! AOS 2 is a bit more boring but I'm getting through it thankfully. Chem has been the best subject online I think but I'm super glad to get back to school and maybe do some pracs!

French✰
French has been a struggle recently, I have been SUPER unmotivated and honestly considered dropping it at one point. I want to put more effort into my French studies next year (haven't I said this in every update, yes I have). I got 80% on my last outcome which is again not too bad considering the amount of effort I have been putting in (aka none)

Mundane Life Update: I am not looking forward to the GAT. At all. I did a practice GAT and I thought I did horribly, actually didn't do too bad, but I want to do a heck of a lot better on the real thing tomorrow. No one knows how the GAT will be used this year and I don't want my scores being affected negatively, especially because I am riding for my two 3/4s (further and methods) to be high in my top 4 because I am stronger in them than my other subjects. I haven't really done any targeted revision other than a bit of a practice GAT and watch and read some advice, but I am just hoping for the best.

I hope you all have a great week, good luck on the GAT to my fellow year 11s and year 12s and let's hope I actually update on here more 😂🥰

Hey El!!🥰

Great to see a journal update🤩

Exam 1s are going ok, I have been making a lot of stupid mistakes but I haven't done any under timed conditions. Exam 2s are kicking my butt though (Ashmi, how did you say that you enjoyed these... please teach me your ways).

Exam 2 is so much FUN!🥰 Sometimes, I just laugh at the funny questions they have in the extended response. [It is so exaggerated and I love it. Take the time to appreciate it]. I'm the opposite, please teach me your ways for E1 :o. You are doing a terrific job so far and don't worry, you can only go up from here.

Any further exam revision tips would be appreciated :)
Don't spam the practice exams and really understand. Like REALLY understand what you are doing. It will make your life so much easier I promise!

Also, amazing progress with all of your subjects El! You are doing a fantastic job and keep up the great work ;D. Don't worry too much about the GAT, I'm sure everything will work out in the end 8)

Thanks for the journal update El and good luck for the GAT tomorrow! I know you will smash it and be totally fine 8)

You're doing AMAZING in Methods and Further (unsurprisingly) and your 1/2 subjects too! Great job on the chem and english language assessments, getting those marks is no easy feat! Don't worry too much about not having motivation for French, when school opens up I'm sure you'll become motivated again. I hate the GAT as well, and I hope the GAT went great today!

Great journal update, looking forward to the next one <3

Hey homeworkisapotato, thankyou so much for always reading and replying to my journal, I do appreciate it. ❤️❤️

Hello, it's me again!
Hello Everyone! Here is another journal update :)

One thing that I am super excited to tell you all about is that I have been elected as one of the 3 School Captains of my school! Technically I am one of the Vice Captains lmao but we get referred to as school captains so yay. This whole process has been a lot, with a portfolio, speech and 3 separate interviews. I am super excited to be inducted into my new role and I really hope we have a slightly more "normal" year next year!

Another thing is that I had my trial exams! They went pretty well overall so I'll give a bit of details below:

Further Exam 1
The exam was pretty easy. I chose the networks module as it seemed more straightforward than linear and that was a good choice. I finished with almost an hour to spare so go me!
Result: 38/40 (cries two stupid mistakes :'()

Further Exam 2
This exam was also pretty easy. Again finished with a while to spare so I just checked over my answers lol
Result: 60/60 (yayyyyy!!!!)

Methods Exam 1
Pretty easy exam with a couple of questions with some odd answers. Finished with maybe 20 minutes to spare so pretty on par with usual.
Result: 38/40 (whooo! go eloise :)))

Methods Exam 2
The multiple-choice section was good, skipped a few questions as I felt like they were taking a while. The extended response wasn't too bad but that last couple pf parts of each question were really hard. Also, there was a probability question that I left couldn't decipher haha
Result: 62/80 (19/20 for MCQ and 43/60 for ER ooft)

The last thing that has been going on was the GAT! 3 hours of torture basically but there were some good mems coming out of it AHHAH. I think I did well on the writing sections and not too bad on the Maths/Science MCQ, but I kinda guessed half the Arts/Hums questions because comprehension is DEFINITELY my weakness.

Nothing else is happening but I hope you all enjoyed this update :) Reminder that you are loved and that you bring something special to this world🥰

Congratulations!

Yeah I think "pretty well" might be a slight understatement on your mock exams :D Congrats on your progress so far!

Methods ER is a bit ooft compared to your other scores but it is also the harder part so kinda makes sense; don't forget that 43/60 is still over 70%

One small piece of advice: if you're finishing super early and the marks you're losing are due to silly mistakes it might be worth trying intentionally slowing down and seeing if that helps.

Love the wholesome vibes!

Hey el! Oh my god, you're doing AMAZINGLY well! I second Bri that 'pretty well' is definitely an understatement.  Don't worry about Methods ER, you have time to work on it so I'm sure that you'll improve. Extra well done with FM 2 and Methods 1 exams, those are amazing scores.

All the best with exam revision and looking forward to the next update!

"Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 30 days. Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic" yeah yeah I know don't need to remind me 😂

eloisegrace updating her journal weekly? Never heard of her...

Hey guys!! I hope that everyone has been doing well! These past 6 weeks have probably been some of the busiest in my life so I hope I can recap them well for you all 👍🏻

First up - 3/4 Exams
Oh gosh, 3/4 exams. I was nervous but quietly confident for these exams. I put in a lot of effort in preparation. I did 89 practice exams over 2 subjects, alongside work for my 1/2s and other things. But coming closer to these exams I became more and more nervous. I was still occasionally making silly mistakes in further. There were questions in methods that I could not understand the solutions too. I have some regrets in my revision and year in general in terms of studies, but I won't go into those now.

Further Exam 1
This was my first VCAA Exam and probably the best of my 4 exams. I got through the exam in about 40 minutes which gave me a lot of time to go through my answers. However, there was one Networks questions which was really hard. I think I got the answer correct (I haven't checked the solutions for the best for me), but it definitely scared me. Overall, I found the exam was different to VCAAs usual further exam style which threw me off a bit.

Further Exam 2
Felt decently confident going into this after a pretty good exam 1. The exam felt longer than usual and again felt like it was different to VCAAs usual further exam style. I could see tricks and loopholes but again i finished with lots of time to spare to ensure that I didn't make any silly mistakes. But I did. I minimised instead of maximised. Yes this question was only worth 1 mark but that basically crushes my hope for a 50. Now I am really not certain in my answers but I am not looking at suggested solutions to keep me slightly calm before Dec 30

Methods Exam 1
Not going to lie I was pretty excited for this exam. I was performing very well on most of my practice exams and felt confident going into it. But then I opened the paper. VCAA, what the actual hell was that paper. I furiously finished the parts that I knew felt confident doing (spoiler, not a whole lot), and then worked through the rest of the paper. That was definitely the most difficult exam I did. I cam out of it and had a good rant with my friends and made some hilarious TikToks. That night, I just cried and cried because I felt that all of hard work throughout the year had gone to waste.

Methods Exam 2
After exam 1, I really didn't know what to expect. To be honest I dont remember much however I did find it pretty decent and better than a lot of the practice exams. Multiple Choice were WACK though and I think I lost most of my marks from them even though I usually full marked them.

I predict that I will get a 44 for further and a 38 for methods, which is a little bit lower than I hoped but I hope my 3/4s next year will push me over the line to get a good ATAR!

1/2 Exams
I really didn't do much study for these exams but they were all pretty expected. I got an A for French and an A+ for English Language and Chemistry which I was super duper happy about 😆😆.

Head Start
I had head-start in the last week of school! I am pretty excited about my subjects, especially PE which I am pretty sure will be my favourite subject throughout next year. I have good teachers for all of my subjects and they didn't give me too much holiday homework which is always a plus😊

That's all for this update! Thanks for reading after my little disappearance and I am so so grateful for the AN community for supporting me during these times💙

Hey El,

Congratulations on your awesome scores, you maths queen! Firstly, having the courage and confidence to take 2 maths subjects early is unbelievable, and to also achieve those scores in this tumultuous year is something I'm so proud of. You did amazingly this year, and here's to hoping next year is just as good (I know you'll do well)! Enjoy the rest of these holidays - they're the calm before the storm in year 12 haha.

Have a wonderful new year!

Hey Eloise ;D

I've sort of been silently reading your journal for a while, so I'm happy to finally be commenting (I may or may not have done so before as I can't remember). As I read a couple of your most recent journal entries I found myself getting nervous for you, and was over the moon for you when I saw your results (pleaseee teach me your ways). Congrats on your incredible scores!! All the best for year 12. I hope you have an amazing rest of your holidays :)

Hey Evolio, thank you so much for your support and congrats! Good luck at monash this year 😊

Hello there everyone! Long time no see, a pretty recurring theme on my journal ahaha

There is a lot to get through today (wow I sound like a teacher when your class is so behind LMAO) so I hope you enjoy this rendition of my slightly chaotic journey through year 12 (yes, I did change my name, its pretty fitting to how Year 12 is treating me thus far)

3/4 Results
I was very happy with my 3/4 results, and I thought they reflected the hard work I put in throughout the year. But, me being curious me decided to get a statemark of marks cos why tf not and its free ahahhah.

My marks are as follows
Further GA1 - 77/80 -> 80/80 GA2 78/80 GA3 114/120 which equalled a SS of 45
Methods GA1 69/75 -> 73/75 GA2 70/80 GA3 131/160 which equalled a SS of 42

My further marks honestly didn't make sense to me, but that is that. 4 marks lost equals a 45? It's not that big of a deal but has pondered my mind for a bit (I was gunning for that raw 50 and if I had the 2019 or 2018 exam I would have cries).
Also, thank god for SAC scaling, thanks school with hard SACs and a strong cohort (although weaker this year, we will get to that in a bit).

I ended up duxing methods (I think ahaha). I was so happy when I looked at the honour roll then realised that 42 is quite a low dux? My school was in top 10 for a bit but dropped a lot this year so maybe that is why? Nevertheless, I was happy being the top of a cohort in a subject that caused me a decent amount of pain throughout the year :) I was second dux in further which was pretty nice too, a girl got a 50 ahahah

Holidays
Ngl, I reckon the last holidays was my favourite to date. I had so much fun, went out a lot and really took advantage of the pre year12 times! I didn't get around to doing a huge amount of work but I had a break which was so important.

My absolute highlight was attending this leadership conference by yLead called ASLC. It was breathtaking, lifechanging and I had the greatest 3 days with my new family. If anyone has the opportunity to take part in this conference, PLEASE pounce on the opportunity, you will not regret it. The days were filled with workshops, games, secret squad missions and the nights were filled with music, dancing, and connecting on a different level with the other participants (possibly the most thought-provoking night of my life).

I also took part in NYSF! Being online, it was very different but it was still pretty insightful! My interest group was awesome (love y'all Nightingales) and even though I didn't make it to every session it gave me a deeper perspective into the world of STEM.

I also just saw heaps of friends and made lifelong memories <3

School
Gosh, school has hit me luck a truck this year. I feel like I am always running around, studying or in a frantic mess. Being School Captain is more work than I envisioned, and while it is super cool, like running stalls, organising activities and recording a podcast (DM me if you want to listen to it and I'll direct you to it :)), there is a lot of work both in and out side of school that goes into it. I am getting a bit better with balancing it but it is still tough and I find that I have been prioritising it a lot lately (oop).

Now onto a quick subject update (arguably the bit everyone is here for lmao)

English Language - quite interesting! I am really trying to enjoy the subject and I think it's working. I am a lot more engaged than I was in 1/2 and I am actually motivated to do the subject!!

Chemistry - Oh chemistry, what did I do for you to just turn on me! I loved this subject in year 11 and it is right now my least favourite subject. It is also SO HARD OMG. I do not understand fuel cells. Like at all. That's this weekends job oop 🙈

French - French is French, what else can I say. Decent subject, its not the most fun but it's a subject where you don't have to put in a huge amount of work to do like ok yk? I feel like a 30 seems pretty obtainable. It's not a subject you can cram so I need to establish a good solid routine (that is not in place right now oops)

PE - I LOVE PE. The subject is so interesting, I love my teacher and class. This is the subject I want a 50 in. Is that possible? Probably not, but I will sure as hell try.

As for ATARy stuff, I know Eng Lang and Methods will definitely be in my top 4. I hope PE will be as well. I know chem will be in my bottom 2. It depends on how much work I do for French to see how that will go. My further score scales to about 43.5 so I need a 34 in French to beat that.

There has been a lot of stuff going on in my life which explains how I am so all over the place. I turned 18 on the first day of iso (yay Dan Andrews for starting it on the 13th). I know the lockdown was necessary but it was sad to not be able to see many people. My family were going to surprise me and also a small group of friends that I didn't expect were going to surprise me which warmed my heart 🥰. I did get to see friends on a walk and they gave me a super nice card and gift so I really appreciate that (if they are somehow reading, hello my dear friends and thank you again, ily.) Hopefully, I can have my party next week, if we don't go back into lockdown it should happen !! 😆😆

Thank you if made it to the end of this entry, you are so loved 🥰🥰

Eloise 😆

OMG IT'S ELOISE AGAIN AHHHHHH!!!! super stoked to see you again!
HAPPY BELATED BDAYYYYY!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 And also, congrats on becoming school captain! Please hit me with the events your school is hosting so I can pass it onto the SRC crew at my school! Unfortunately, I didn't get shortlisted for school captaincy but I ended up becoming the digital tech captain. Oh well!

I'm going to say this once and for all but if you're not getting a 50 in phys ed (VCAA im watching you) I'm throwing a riot. You deserve that 50 and I have no doubt that you will get there! And omg nysf sounds so fun!

With regards to chem, dwdw! I'm finding it challenging as well! (I had a bit of a sook over chem the other day but I pretty much just told myself to keep on keeping on, which ended up with me writing the chemical equation in tears  :'( :'( :-[) Hopefully we can get through the arduous trek through the bizarre yet fascinating world of chem this year!

Can't wait to read more updates!
Love,
Mary

Hello everyone, I'm not dead dw! Wow, what a year it has been so far. Pretty hectic and crazy. I said in my last post that year 12 had hit me with a truck and little did Eloise know that it would continue to hit her with about 500 more trucks going 200km an hour. I don't even know where to start this update so I'm just going to do sub-headings and hopefully you guys can follow.

English Language
The subject I dread seeing on my timetable. This subject is arguably making year 12 even worse. While the content is slightly interesting, it is not taught well at my school. At all. We are the first cohort to do 3/4 and I am worried. There are 2 small classes with 12-14 students each. We all (especially the other class) struggle to get feedback on practice tasks and the teaching is not very direct. I feel as though we have skipped over important aspects while paying more attention to smaller aspects. Heck, I didn't even know what double-speak was until today. I feel that this is the subject that will 'ruin' my ATAR. It was a risk taking a new subject and I am lowkey regretting it. I would have hated english but maybe at least would get a better score.

For AOS1, I got 80% which i was pretty happy with considering I had a huge breakdown right before it. I know I am above average and that is all that matters. I want a 40 but anything above 35 will do.

Chemistry
You used to be so good to me chem what happened. My worst subject besides Englang. I didn't really enjoy the content for Unit 3 and felt a bit all over the place with the amount of self-learning we did for certain topics (i taught myself fuels, thermochem, faradays laws and equilibrium pretty much). My results haven't been awful, not incredible either. The averages have been high af this year which doesn't make me feel any better. I got 87% for AOS1 and 84% for AOS2. Definitely a bottom 2 subject and has made me question if I actually like science (more on this later).

French
French is french. My teacher is super organised, even if the classes are a bit boring they are structured and we can still have fun. I have done pretty well - my score for the unit is 42/50 (84%) and with sac and subject scaling I reckon french will actually reach my top 4. I wish I could have gone on exchange but #corona

PE
My one love. This subject is interesting, is taught well by a lit teacher, has my bsf in it and is just overall great. I f'ed up the first SAC but I think my ranking is in the top 2 and I feel I could dux this subject! I am so glad I came into this class.

ATAR
Look, I don't want to lie, I know my ATAR will be enough to get me into most courses. Even with 30 ss's in all my subjects along with my 3/4 scores I will get 95. I feel as though I'm gonna get in the 97s and I hope I get in the 98s. Who knows tho and the ATAR is only for uni entrance so who really cares.

University
Maybe the biggest change this year. I don't think I want to do science. I dont see myself doing it as a career, the passion isn't there. If I had to put in preferences right now, here is what they would probably look like.
Commerce @ Melbourne
Actuarial Studies/Commerce @ Monash
Commerce/Science @ Monash
Science/Physio @ Melbourne
Science @ Melbourne
Physio @ LaTrobe
Physio @ Monash
Science @ Monash

But I don't want any of these courses. I want to go to ANU. I had never even considered this until this year and I have fallen in love with the idea of going and studying in Canberra. Also, the flexible double degree structure is so good for me. Right now, I want to study Actuarial Studies and PPE and I applied for early entry with year 11 results and co-curricular which I will hopefully get!

Other stuff
Look, my mental health hasn't been too flash this year. Being school captain is so much work and the expectations are crazy and there are times where I feel I can't go on with it. I have had some problems with my school as well and it is not the best atm. My friendship group basically fell apart and I am stuck in the middle. Lots of shit has gone on in my personal life as well, not for this journal. I just want to basically start a new life in Canberra and be truly happy again. Not to say there isn't stuff to be grateful for, I have a couple of incredible friends and teachers and ofc my family. I could have my bday party, I get to be here in Australia and not have to face so many horrible injustices in the world.

Sorry for the long long awaited update. I thank every single one of you for your support, it doesn't go unnoticed.

I hope to update this again but no promises.

Signing out,

Eloise xxx

Getting hit by a truck is a pretty bang-on analogy for Year 12. Hope you're holding up alright and finding ways to make time for yourself even when you're really busy!

Commerce and physiotherapy seem like quite different career paths; what interests you about each? Good luck thinking more about which direction you might go. I've also had a bit of a mid-year panic about careers. I was so such I'd do an allied health course at LaTrobe (or ACU), but really enjoying lit and being desperate to move out has made me reconsider a bit. At least we've got a while to decide. When do you find out about your early offer?

Thank youuu

"Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 30 days. Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic."
- yes yes I know AN, I'm about as consistent on here as with my VCE subjects so that sets a nice tone for this journal entry.

Hey fam bam !!!

Wow, we are here. As I am writing this, on 17/10, I am done with high school. Only 4 more exams to go until I am free. Extremely bittersweet, but I will get to that in a bit. Boy, has this year been a journey. With 4 lockdowns, so many events shifted and changed and cancelled, I can't say this is what I would think my year 12 experience would be like. I haven't updated this since June so I want to give a little term 3 wrap p before I get into Term 4, my subjects, exam prep etc. etc.

Term 3
This term started off with me getting my P's! From being the person with like no hours, to somehow getting 100 hours in 6 months (my poor father who did every single one of those hours, thank you). I was shitting bricks during the exam but I passed, and I can confidently say I have grown as a driver since then. Really have not driven heaps though, furthest I have been was maybe 30 minutes to get my vaccine AHAHA. We also just squeezed in a very jumbled House Music, which I thought we did amazing in but we only came 3rd (robbed lol). We did a musical theatre number to 'Good Morning Baltimore' from High School Musical and looking back it was a great event to finish my house "career" at my school. Then, remote learning #5, for 2 weeks, then a solid 7 days at school until remote learning #6. Did almost all of my Unit 4 SACs at home, and was so bloody unmotivated. School captain stuff again was busy, we filmed 4 podcast episodes, did initiatives every week etc. The feel of these lockdowns was a lot different to the first couple, like how are we back here, and missing out on what is year 12 really f'ing sucks. No formal (yr 11 or 12), no sleepover, no netball match, no movie night, nothing. But oh boy eloise was not ready for what came next.

Term 4
Started with the GAT, pretty fun! I found writing task 2 and the MCQ pretty normal, I lowkey struggled on writing task 1 but knowing my writing proficiency (thank you somewhat natural talent), I should be fine. The arts/humanities questions were wack and I guessed a lot of them, which is slightly scary considering they pertain to 3/4 of my subjects (Eng Lang, PE, French), but whatever. Its fine. Then, we finally got to go back to campus. How good it was, to see everyone, get free canteen lunches, and spend the last 2 weeks with the cohort/family I had grown up with for the past 6 years. My year level, despite the challenges, has grown really close and I am so grateful for the 83 girls that make up the Class of 2021.

The last week was our theme week, to make up for muck-p day being moved to after exams (ik, weird, don't ask lol cos idfk). Monochrome Monday, pigtail tuesday, alternate uniform Wednesday (who knew boys uniforms were so comfy), then what was supposed to be PJ thursday and crazy costume Friday. Lol.

So I got home from studying at school with a friend on Wednesday, had dinner, and was about to have a shower, and get into some study for the night. Then, I open my outlook, and see this.

"After much consideration and discussion, this afternoon we made the difficult decision to conclude our onsite teaching of all VCE classes effective tomorrow – Thursday 14 October at the conclusion of Period 6. This will allow us to minimise the risk of a COVID positive case entering our Senior School community between now and Wednesday 27 October, the date of the first VCE written examination."
No SWOTVAC, no seeing friends or teachers on-site, no year 12 breakfast, no last day, no leavers service, nothing. Absolutely nothing but a whole lot of tears. The absolute last straw. My school is in an area with relatively low COVID cases, and most if not all of my year level is vaccinated. From them telling us how good SWOTVAC would be, giving us some hope. Nothing.  So or last day was Thrusdya. Rushed, but we did have some good things. Lots of photos, nice memories, watched the incredible year 12 video, opened our year 7 time capsules (my favourite line that made me sob was: When I am in year 12, I want to be the captain of the school. Well Eloise, you did that, I hope you are proud). Anyways, back into remote learning for Friday and now I have no clue how I can meet up with teachers.... fun (not).

Now onto the subjects that I have not updated for a year lmao:

English Language
Um, idek about this subject. I'm pretty decent at it, I much prefer Unit 4 to Unit 3 (especially essays, gimme an identity essay every day of the week and I will marry you). Decent ranking, I think it was around 6 in the cohort (of around 25-30), which isn't too bad considering I am no way an English student, definitely maths/science lol. Online learning was whack, we got the SAC topics a day or two in advance and could bring in plans, hence I basically knew what I was gonna say lol.
SAC Marks - U3 78/100 (A), U4 91/100 (A+)
The trial exam was decent as well, got 56/75 (75%), which I was happy with considering my AC was utter rubbish (got 10/15 oop). That would get be between a 36-40 (with no SAC scaling), which I would definitely be happy with. The exam is way too close, and my teacher hasn't sent me back anything in a week (given her 2 essays and 2 SAQs so that's great), so if anyone has any EL marking services (paid or free, I'm desperate at this point), please lmk!

French
Bonjour? Sometimes I am like, what is this subject honestly. For our discussion, my class discussed la situation dans les banlieues difficiles parisiennes (situation in the disadvantaged suburbs of France), and my sub-topic was women in the workforce. I really enjoyed researching but left so much of it to the last week lol. My oral skills were pretty atrocious until about 2 weeks before my oral, which was on Friday 15th, the day after my last day, where something just clicked. I actually felt pretty confident for this, although the night before and morning I was so so so scared. It was pretty good! I had two nice assessors, who were fast but understandable, and didn't ask too weird a questions. I am super happy that I can say I can hold a 15-minute conversation in French with two native speakers, that is not easy!
SAC Marks - U3 42/50 (A), U4 42/50 (A)
Trial exam was umm interesting, got 67% overall, which showed I need to work on my listening ASAP. Also, long-form readings are weird but I think a bit of study will help improve the exam result to hopefully about 75%? Who knows but I do enjoy learning a language and despite all the challenges, je ne regrette pas de chosir cette matière (I do not regretting choosing this subject)!

Chemistry
Remind me why I did this subject again. Oh boy, how boring to learn. I ended up zoning out for possible the entirety of U4 online, so learnt everything with VolkScience (what I would do without you). I also f'ed up the AOS3 SAC, lol the one that is supposed to be the easiest, yeah no hahah. Exams are okay for this subject, remind me a bit of methods, which I enjoy (I am truly missing maths in my life cries). Almost guaranteed a bottom 2, so doesn't matter too much
SAC Marks - U3 85/100 (B+) U4 78/90 (A)
Trial Exam - 90/120=75%, nearly an A+ and nothing extremely bad, just working on worded responses and spectroscopy (lol wtf is that AHHAHA)

PE
Oh the subject with the ups and downs. I really enjoy the content, but for some reason everything has just left my head, I lowkey feel so stupid doing this subject. It is supposed to be my easiest, my trip to a raw 50, but no. I was slightly gutted to find out I didn't get the dux for PE, a year 11 did. Cries. Marks arent too bad but needs a lot more work before the exam in 3 weeks, a lot more.
SAC Marks U3 92/100 (A+) U4 92/100 (A+)
Trial Exam - 109/120 (89%) wtf man how um are you sure??? That would get me about a 45???? OKay then sis pop off????

Uni
I got into ANU! My first preference is a flexible double degree which I will be undertaking, in what idk yet HAHHAH. I, unfortunately, cannot start in Actuarial Studies (need spesh lol), but will aim to transfer into this as I am pretty sure that is what I want for my career. I will combine this with either commerce, PPE, science but who knows honestly.

I also submitted VTAC, with my first 3 preferences (and only ones I really need considering I am pretty much guaranteed a 94 ATAR with my two past scores of 42 and 45 plus my SAC results) being Commerce/PPE at Monash, Commerce/Science at Monash, and Commerce at Melbourne. Still may change these though, who cares.

A message to all of the Class of 2021, you all rock. Seriously, we have done the hardest years of schooling in a pandemic and did year 12 with no exam changes or SD cuts. You are all so resilient, kind, and persistent. I truly believe you can do what you set your mind too and I wish you nothing but the best for your future. And to my past self (or present, or future, idk), Eloise, you are so strong. You have done these years with little support, with so much shit going on, and you have come out with so much invaluable experience and hey have been recognised for some of it too. Full colours in house, sport, service, 4 academic awards, 2 citizenship awards, 3 major sport awards, duke of ed, NYSF, PYOE, 2040. You are so strong, so worth it, and you deserve everything you have. Don't settle for anything but the best, continue to be your generous, kind, gentle, loving self.

Signing off,
Eloise 💙

Good luck on all your exams! I know you'll do fantastic. Sad to hear about your school canceling all of the year 12 events, but i'm glad to hear you were able to get the most of the last day you had. You've been working so hard this year despite everything, are you going to relax a bit after your exams or do you have other plans?

Once again, good luck, I know you're going to smash it!

congratulations on the great results!
Thank you sine!

Just wanted to pop onto here with my university plans! My final VTAC preferences were:
Commerce/PPE at Monash
Commerce at Melbourne
Commerce/Actuarial Studies at Monash
Commerce/Science at Monash
Commerce at Monash

With my ATAR, I knew I would be fine for Commerce at Melbourne, but I wasn't 100% sure if I would get into Commerce/PPE at Monash due to the extra supplementary form (which I completed a day before it was due oops). But on offers day, I opened the email saying I got into Commerce/PPE at Monash. However, Monash is not where I will be heading in 2022. If you have read my journal for a while, you may remember me expressing that I wanted to go to ANU in Canberra. So, in less than 3 weeks time, I will be moving to Canberra to study Commerce and PPE at ANU! I am so so excited and have already had the opportunity to talk to some great people also going to ANU - so I cannot wait.

This is officially the end of my VCE Journal - thanks for sticking around yall! Ill still be active on the forums sporadically - so if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

Catch ya on the flip side, Eloise 🤍
