General Weather Thread

Use this thread to discuss what the weather is doing at the present time, or what is forecasted for the future.

In Melbourne, it's been absolutely whack recently. Super hot, then super rainy. Yesterday the storms were intense; all of my relevant trains and trams were cancelled indefinitely.

In saying that, I still prefer it to the heat. Much nicer.

EDIT: It's just started hailing. Blimey.

Storm just finished here. Lots of wind, rain and thunder. It's silent now.

I love stormy & cold weather - hate hot/humid/summer weather with a passion. Would rather it be 15 degrees and pouring as opposed to 35 degrees and extremely hot. At least with the cold weather you can add layers - unfortunately in the hot weather, removal of layers is limited... :)

Unstable af in Sydney right now. One minute some sun and very warm. Next minute thunderstorms and rain.

It's really windy in the west! Just in case Newport station gets flooded or w/e again, I'm catching a train 40mins earlier than needed. 😅

3aw radio lady or someone mentioned that they saw lightning in the city!

Yesterday was nuts- very stormy. Power was cut due to lightning for over 6 hours. It cut as I was cooking dinner aha 💔

I was in that area for athletics and a little while back when that red patch passed over us, it prompted the cancellation of the event.
The worst thing was that I was at the start line as the event was cancelled.

I really like the instability of Melbourne's weather. The unpredictability provides some much needed excitement to my life.

The best thing about it is the fact that it's so... Australian. I mean, not only are the crocs and sharks and spiders and snakes and berries trying to kill you, so is the actual sky.

Wish me luck walking to and from work in the storm tonight, folks :')

I guess this wouldn't be the case one day in the future...

I wish you well for the walk in the pouring rain and/or blistering heat and/or hail storm and/or pleasant sunshine.

Somehow my house has missed the majority of the rain today. Having said that, I went riding along flooded bike paths today and it probably wasn't the smartest decision. Currently beautiful sunshine here though I'm sure it won't last long

It's nice, sunny and blue skies outside now where I am. Seems the storm was short lived.

Blah. Melbourne.

The constant changing of weather & conditions.. let's just say its doing wonders for my hayfever and allergies.... *sigh*
