Bio Investigation SAC Topics??

Hi all,
Sooo. My school is making the students pick their own topic to do for the investigation prac - it just has to be anything related to Unit 3 content. We're having meetings with our lab technician the first week back at school to make sure that it's okay to actually do the experiment - the thing is that my teacher hasn't given us any ideas or examples of what our topic should be, so I'm completely lost.
We're not allowed to do pracs that we've already done, and so far the possible investigations I have in mind are:
- testing the effect of light colour OR intensity on rate of photosynthesis, by measuring the time it takes for spinach leaf discs to float
- testing the effect of solution concentration on diffusion/osmosis, using beetroot
I feel like membrane related investigation pracs are a bit too simple as there isn't actually that much theory I can cover in the discussion, but I also don't want to make it way too complicated.
Can anyone share what pracs they (or someone else) did for their investigation SAC, for some inspiration??

Enzymes are always really good for the investigation. e.g. you can test for optimum pH, temperature etc.
