Guys, are you guaranteed to get at least 90 & above for your Atar, if your primary 4 subjects score 40 & above?

there is no "guarantee" given your ATAR is based on how the state does in the year you complete VCE and those results aren't out until your ATAR is.

However, it is highly likely if someone can get 4 x 40+ study scores (after scaling) they will get a ATAR over 90 given the aggregate for a 90.00 is generally below 160.

People say that English has to be in your primary 4, but what happens if you score 34 in English, however you score 40 & above for all your other 5 subjects. You can still get an ATAR of 90 and above right?

In this case, your 34 in English would count toward your ATAR, in addition to your next three best subjects (after scaling). As such, the last remaining two subjects would contribute only 10% to your aggregate - even though they were 40+ and higher than the English result.

As above, an ATAR of 90+ is definitely possible in these circumstances.

I know someone who only got a 40 in a single subject (that wasn't English) and still managed to get a 90+, so a 34 in English with all other subjects 40+ in most cases would get you an ATAR in the 90s quite comfortably I believe
