Two articles I enjoyed reading from ScienceAlert recently! :)
Learnt about the double-slit experiment in class and thought you'd never hear of it again? Well, a new X-Ray spectroscopy method based on it has been developed!
Summary
A research group has made an X-Ray spectroscopy method based on the double-slit experiment! It offers researchers a deep understanding of a solid's electronic structure. It will allow for future research into functions and properties of solids.
Nanofabrication and nanophotonics: serving a new use in making ULTRA ultrasound!
Summary
Using nanofabrication and nanophotonics, a more sensitive method of measuring ultrasound. This is done by making ultra precise ultrasound sensors- on a silicon chip. This technology will improve the ultrasound experiences in the medical and biomedical fields, as well as in applications such as sonar. Researchers hope that they can eventually hear/see using ultrasound small biological systems.
