I breezed through the M/C in the trials I did but for the actual exam it took quite a bit longer.
Same! When I did the VCAA 2011 I got through it a lot faster and it was also easier!

Most people I spoke to mentioned the exam was really long and they didn't get time to finish the extended response. I found this too which may be why the average was so low.

I'd assume I stuffed up the MC as I seem to have gotten most of the short answer from what I can remember.

Admittedly, I breezed through the exam MC as well, I found it rather easy.

I guess I'll be taking a more careful approach this time round.

I don't understand how people found it to be a long exam.

I felt it was incredibly short and finished with a good half an hour to go.

That being said, I did significantly less work for the extended response and only managed a B+ mid year.
I took a while for the M/C which is why it would have seemed longer for me. Not sure about anyone else though.
This. I breezed through the M/C in the trials I did but for the actual exam it took quite a bit longer.

From what I can remember, the multiple choice questions were very wordy, which is probably why the section seemed to take much longer to complete than it should've. I remember there were several questions with way too much information to read before answering the actual question. There was one on the split-brain that basically reverberated Sperry's entire experiment, which was totally unnecessary (though advantageous for students who couldn't remember the experiment well, I suppose).

For the Extended Response, I don't recall writing the 'materials needed'.
I thought that type of information was given in a research methods question, and it was never required in any of the practice examinations I completed.
That surprised me.

Sameeee! Even now, I've been finishing my trials with 30 minutes to go. But I'm not going over anything, so I guess if that does happen in the actual exam, I'll have enough time to proofread and everything.

I'm surprised because it didn't ask for it in the dot points, so I didn't bother putting it in. Maybe that's why I lost marks? Hmmm...
