So it seems I have to follow all those amazing results before me, congratulations to all. I have to say, I'm sitting here after my best semester yet (I'm going to ignore my Winter intensive Business negotiations result for the time being) and feeling quite conflicted. I decided this sem to take 3 subjects and I believe I've had my hardest semester yet by picking up part time work 25 hours a week as well. Ultimately I had so many new things happen this semester that I can't pin point what has led to my results but I'm hoping to replicate it next year. For those that feel they haven't had such a good semester, I was in the same spot in the last 2 semesters - but I feel like I'm finally starting to embrace the difficulty of Melbourne University and show that I am capable of doing well. Anyway, mainly just writing this so I can come back to it in a years time and see how I felt hahaha.

Honestly most of gotten an easy marker for tax law, cause god knows my writing was hardly legible.

hi guys

2016 sem 2 was my final year final sem.
I am doing commerce, majoring in accounting and finance.

I just received my UN-finalised results on LMS.

I failed one subject with 49 marks. (NH- not meeting hurdle requirements)
I took DS, COPR FI, TAX LAW, i received H1, two H2A.

I was expecting to graduate on 10th of Dec.
Do you guys think there is a chance that the subject coordinator might reconsider my mark/situation and give me pass before the release of final result?

thanks guys,
search up the commerce final subject rule http://ask.unimelb.edu.au/app/answers/detail/a_id/5740/~/final-subject-rule they have specific situations for this.  good luck

Anyone else think finance 1 was scaled up? I got much higher than expected haha and I found the exam pretty tough.
finance 1 usually gets scaled down not up. so i highly doubt it. almost every year it scales down because the top kids in the cohort are very hard to distinguish between. not to say its an easy subject, but unlike something like qm where alot of people just fail and the (raw) bell curve is centred around the 50 mark so they boost everyones marks by a bit so heaps more people pass.
in finance 1 a shit load of people get 50s to high 60s with a pretty even spread up until 80 and then another big spike. it almost looks like two bell curves

tl;dr i doubt it finance 1 usually goes down

Oh really haha, because I was genuinely confused to how I pulled a H1 in it cause I felt like I completely bombed the exam... hahaha. Also our exam felt a little more difficult and different to previous exams as they all followed a generic format with a lot of calculation type questions, whereas in our exam, it was mostly only theory and also deriving equations :/

Honestly? I have no idea, I'm imagining I got an easy marker for my exam since I barely scrapped a h1 in the assignment. Thanks for your kind words :)

Definitely possible. I had Jordan Neyland for Finance 1 in 2014 Sem 2 and his exam in that year (imo) was ridiculous and the stuff on the exam was completely out of the blue. Went out of the exam feeling like I got 40%, but ended with a H1, no doubt my mark was scaled up.

All four went up officially today within a few hours of each other, weirdly.

2016   Semester 2   GERM20003   German Cultural Studies B   2   89   H1   First Class Honours   12.500
2016   Semester 2   GERM20010   German 10   1   84   H1   First Class Honours   12.500
2016   Semester 2   PSYC20007   Cognitive Psychology   1   42   S   WH SP Exam   12.500
2016   Semester 2   PSYC20009   Personality and Social Psychology   1   88   S   WH SP Exam   12.500

Really happy with cog psych :) :) super proud :) Nah I didn't do the exam and have special consideration so all g.
Social is a lot better than I expected considering I got dogged a bit by a dodgy tutor for the lab report worth 40%, but I definitely won't complain lol.

Pretty happy with this sem overall considering I missed the last four weeks with glandular fever lol. Just gotta hopefully do okay on the supp exam.
For the sake of completeness, my last mark went up the other day:
2016   Semester 2   PSYC20007   Cognitive Psychology   1   86   H1   First Class Honours   12.500

Pretty happy with this year! Feels kinda weird only having a year left of undergrad now but looking forward to smashing the rest out.
