i'd suggest more than 1 hour of study in the morning. at my school we were told to average 3 per day, 10-12 over the weekend (including homework). I never achieved this, but would recommend it if sustainable - otherwise 2, or whatever is 'enough' for you to stay on top of things (which for me was substantially less). make sure you remain balanced etc as stated above, but don't abuse this - make sure you do enough work. seek advice from teachers and students, work together, and basically don't lose motivation or fall behind.
