Year 10 getting hit marks, 3/4?

Edit: Title meant to say shit* marks :)

I just did my maths unit 2 exam like 2 weeks ago and just got it back and got 76%. i put down methods 3/4 as one of my choices, should i do it?

-Haven't done much notes this year but find the Essentials textbook relatively easy-medium
-Don't work hard on maths, barely take notes or do much homework b/c don't take it seriously
-Most questions in test wrong b/c of careless arithmetic errors or don't understand meaning of question

My average marks are like 75ish, my school is ranked higher than average, meanings Sacs and tests are much harder than the average.

Current grades for rest of subjects are 90+, its just maths under 90

Rest of next year's subjects are Eng,Lit,Chem,Spesh,Methods 3/4, Economics

Ty in advance

Unit 3,4 methods is basically unit 1,2 methods all over again with a little bit of extra formulas. If you spend the next year perfecting your skills, I think you'll do fine. Add in the fact that it is a 3,4, it's likely you'll put in a lot more effort. Also doing methods 3,4 ahead will really give you an advantage for spesh 3,4 the year after.

At the same time, if you are talented at maths and feel like you aren't ready to complete the 3,4 next year, taking an extra year to practise everything can be really beneficial too.

:) hope that helps

May as well. As said by mtse, 3/4 and 1/2 are pretty similar, so if you HAVE to repeat, it's better to repeat 3/4 - same content, but that way you get a second shot at a good study score.

Furthermore, if you do 3/4 next year and decide not to repeat it, you get 6 subjects for your ATAR. If you repeat it now, you'll only get 5.

Plus, 76% is pretty damn good if you barely worked for it. Do some real work next year and you'll be fine.

If you're getting hit marks then you should probably switch to a barret .50 cal

Nah in all seriousness do 3/4 next year your marks aren't that bad and as it's been said it's way better to repeat 3/4 than 1/2
