Thought I might as well join in on the conversation.  :) Right now VCE seems way too quiet. Nothing has really happened yet, but in 2 weeks I'll probably start getting swamped with SACs. My first SAC is language analysis for English in about 2 weeks, but my next English SAC is a creative oral. I was wondering what you guys have for your creative SACs, since my school forces us to do an oral presentation for ours.

Why is everyone doing the language analysis SAC first? Also I've never heard of the creative SAC being an oral, we just have to write a response to Medea, which is going to be horrible since no one has any idea how write a creative response.

Hey everyone! :)
I hope everyone's had a great start with the year so far and it continues (or start to have a great year). I've got to agree, this year has been a bit quiet so far in terms of homework/classwork to do. My first SAC isn't until a couple more weeks (either for Chemistry or Literature) so it hasn't been too stressful.

So far this year my favourite class has been Literature even though I'm normally a maths/science person. I am loving the class and the discussions we have are so deep and meaningful hahah.

Has anyone else had their swimming carnival/sports yet? Had mine last week, such a strange feeling that it was my last one.

Had my swimming carnival last week, but I didn't really feel nostagic because I don't compete in any events, so the day literally consists of sitting there and doing nothing, since my school bans electronic devices, card games and homework during these events.

Haha we just sneak them in, and when a teacher comes patrolling, you make sure you have a place to hide it. It's also useful to keep some of your friends as scouts ;D Is your school super strict and checks your bags and everything? Because if they don't I'm pretty sure you could have at least snuck a mobile phone in! I always bring my phone and put my laptop at the bottom of my sports bag and no one ever finds out...haha ;)

How did everyone feel about the Creative SAC (well, for those who have done it), or the Creative topic in general?

I actually found it quite an enjoyable part of the course. The book I studied was I for Isobel (a book I recommend even outside of VCE), and we had to do a diary entry to Margaret explaining the key events that has shaped her.

Not my favourite prompt though. My favourite was to write a diary entry right right after Isobel leaves the special crowd. You could do a lot with that one -- I decided to address it to Joseph, which allowed for some really fun writing!

I for Isobel was indeed one of my favourite books in which I had to study. Really glad you liked it too! (Some others I spoke to hated it, haha).

Awh! Try not to stress too much over the sacs and try to treat yourself after it's all finished! ;)

I wish everyone who has sacs in the next week or so the best of luck. ^_^

Cue cards, get a tutor (I have a tutor from LearnMate), they make me understand things a lot more and tell me my weaknesses and strengths :)

Thanks for the tips, and also regarding tutoring is it worth a private tutor over a group tutor for subjects like english, maths etc
