I've chosen it as a semester 1 unit and for some reason my other 3 units I can pick preferences for, but this one is with my semester 2 units. Seeing as it's a core unit, I would assume that there would be plenty of people in the same boat?

Where exactly are you seeing this message? WES, Allocate+...?

Strange...have you double-checked that you've got it down as a semester one unit in WES? I suppose its possible that somebody hasn't turned it ON or there is some problem in that respect...but I'm not sure how it would be listed with your S2 units if you've selected it for S1 and it's running then (and the unit page indicates that it runs in S1).

double check you have it as a first sem unit in WES. if it is a first sem unit, contact monash and inform them of the issue.
