Sleep Cycle

Hey there,

Some of my friends use this app called sleep cycle and I was wondering if it actually helps you feel better when you wake up in the morning?
Also, does anyone know whether the data analysis is accurate?

I was thinking of maybe installing it so that I can know what helps me sleep (weather, activity etc.) better and from that change things so that i'm always sleeping well. I'm heading into year 12 so obviously sleep will play a large role in my performance and i'm not sure if it is worth the money

I've never used the app, but the principle those sorts of things work on is solid. You definitely go through cycles in your sleep - If you wake up at the right point in that cycle, you feel awesome when you wake up! Stir yourself out of a deep sleep and that's when you feel like absolute crap. The app normally uses the accelerometer in your phone/wearable to measure your movement through the night, figure out when you are sleeping heavily and/or lightly (your sleep cycle), and then pick the right moment to wake you up with minimal impact! At least, that's what I've seen those apps offer :)

It's not hocus; it should work for you if it does what it claims correctly! ;D

I only use the free version but I think it works just as well as the premium! I definitely feel less groggy when I wake up, and the snooze time getting shorter and shorter is helpful haha. Personally I don't think the extra features that premium offers are necessary, the free app already gives you a sleep graph and sleep quality %. Can't say if the paid version is worth it but I do highly recommend the app!!

I think the premium version only costs $1 or something like that, I just paid it personally anyway as my gesture of support for the creators. The free version is probably enough though :)

Ok that's perfect! I just wasn't sure if the science behind it was reliable i.e. they were using really data and analysing it.
But it all seems pretty good, thanks for getting back to me :)

Hey kiwiberry,

That's reassuring to hear that your experience of waking up has improved (such an important thing to start the day right) since getting the app  :)
I  just downloaded the app and will probably try out the free version for a week or two, then might do the free trial for a month to see if i'm actually getting more out of it and if it's worth the money.

Thanks for replying!

I don't think it'll matter given that it's almost impossible to fall asleep during the hot days of Summer. Well that's my personal experience and it sucks -cries-
