Oral presentation topics

Hi guys,
I need to choose a topic that has been in the news since September last year onwards. I have read the discussions about previous oral presentation idea posts but am struggling to find one that I want to do/is relevant to our guidelines. I was thinking maybe the legal drinking age to 21, but i'm not sure if I will get enough arguments to support it.

What are the guidelines that you referring to? Please explain. If they are your school's guidelines, you will need to follow them.

Then, you are pretty much free to do anything. I do suggest that you do an issue that:
1. You are genuinely interested in
2. It is relatively current and there are many news articles on it
3. Unless you can do a commonly done issue well, do one that not many people would be doing.

About the argument thing, I suggest you speak to your teacher. They would be more knowledgeable than me on these issues that has been suggested.

Relevant? Relevant to what?
With the year 12 issue guidelines, it just needs to be from September last year, and has been reported in the Australian media recently. I did gun laws, which is more relevant to America than Australia, but got away with it as it has been reported in the Australian media.

Good Luck

I did mine on how American imperialism destabilized the Middle East and fueled (if not created) the rise of ISIS. Teachers and students seemed to like it.
I suggest doing a topic that you are genuinely passionate about. I am extremely passionate talking about stupid US policies and how they're affecting the rest of the world, so I wasn't bored during the research process. The more passionate you are about a topic and the more you want to get the message across, the more likely it is that your presentation will be a success.

Excuse the poor English, lol. I'm in EAL.

Good Luck :)
