Looking for some insight into honours in finance. Really want to know why people did it/doing it, and its relevance to finding a job in the banking industry.
everybody i know who did honours in finance (a total of 4 people) did it because they didnt get any grad offers or internships in their regular 2-3 years and they used it as the opportunity to try again. they have all been given grad job offers now so i guess it must've helped LOL

See I'm kind of in that position, but not really. I have work experience and will be doing internship at big 4 this year (im penultimate comm student obv) but I want to break into corp finance or IB roles but am barely inside the grade range with no real 'x factors' on my resume. That's why I'm considering it, to try score perhaps a ib internship next year or anything really - guess it's something i've got to think about hey.

If an assignment is due at 5pm Thursday and you hand it in on Friday before 5pm, does anyone know if that's counted as one or two days late?

Is it possible to enter into a masters degree(mechanical) if you haven't done first year prereq subjects(physics 1 + 2), despite completing the mechanics system major?

I can't imagine it'd be two days, you're <24 hours late unless I'm misinterpreting something

Should be 1 day late. It would be 2 days late if you handed it in after 5pm.

For Mech eng, ESD2 satisfies the physics prerequisite - I emailed them about this

This is not the case for Elec Eng though [ESD2 can count as 1 physics subject but not both]

I would still email the department just in case

For anyone that's done IFA2, is the exam super hard under Noel Boys?
The subject guide says they will give us practice exams but they will not reflect the style of questions on the actual exam. So I'm wondering if anyone has recurring nightmares about the exam then maybe they can lend some tips?

I took IFA2 back in Semester 2 2014 with Noel Boys. For me, I didn't find the exam too difficult since Noel gave us 4 practice exam papers. After sitting the real exam, I felt the practice papers helped me to prepare fairly well for the exam. However I did know many people who struggled with the exam. I can say that tutorial questions in conjunction with the practice exams helped me a lot for my preparation. I know this answer is pretty generic, but it's all I can offer really. Also make sure you practice your consolidations since it made up a large percentage of my exam (marks wise) unless he's changed it this semester.
