Is it true we can put any down any courses just so we can make the payment of $41 and then change it later. Currently i still have no clue what I want to do and I dont want to pay the later (heaps more expensive) fees. Thankyou

Yeah the preference change option is available for a while. It's open for a bit even after you get your ATAR.

Does the order of the courses you put down matter? I wasnt really sure what i wanted to do and just wanted to complete uac application and ended up just putting random courses.

Order does matter, but not so much at this stage - for Main Round offers you have until 6th of Jan to change preferences so it should be fine :)

Unless you have applied for scholarships or early entry schemes that require something specific as your first preference! But they'll tell you that; otherwise definitely all sweet on the specific order for a while! ;D

Remember that you only get one offer per round. If you don't get an offer for your first preference, but you do for your second, then your third and so on are ignored for that round.

Also remember to keep in mind what degrees you are applying for when considering late round offers - some are more competitive than others.

Also, remember that offers are still available after the January main round, many people forget this. So if you have a course you really want to get in but didn't keep it as your first preference after the main Jan round, and if there are vacancies you should get a place :)

It depends on what you apply for tbh.

For pretty much 90% of degrees heaps of people get late round offers because there just are that many vacancies. And then you got the small bunch that's ridiculously competitive (e.g. law) to the point whilst it's not impossible, your likelihood of late round offers become far smaller

So could we change our courses after the ATAR to better suit the ranking that we get?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Yes. It's open for at least 2 weeks after ATAR release

Hi,

If I’m going away for 3-6 months but possibly coming back in April-May  or not at all (depending whether I get into the course I want over there), do I have to apply to UAC now? Because I only want UAC as a back-up option (I’ve applied in TISC and VTAC). And it’s really expensive to apply now…
If I don’t apply now, can I only apply later with the next lot of year 12’s?

Thanks :)
^sorry if my question is confusing

Your ATAR is valid for two years. If you want to apply next year I'm pretty sure that this is possible.

However if you applied to institutes of other states (with the intention of preferably going there) I doubt that you'll need to apply with UAC altogether; just get an offer from them and defer it.
