I was looking at MTH2032 and it says corequisite is 2010 does this mean I must do those subjects at the same time or can i do 2010 in year 1 and 2032 a year later?
You don't have to do it at the same time. You can do it later, as most people do. It just means you can't do MTH2032 before having done MTH2010. At a minimum they must be completed at the same time.

thanks  :)

Important to note, easy subject =/= high grades at uni. I know that I'm going to be met with the, "it's okay, I'm dedicated, putting in effort is not going to be an issue!" - and I don't mean this in a mean way, just that I always give this advice and get met with the same response. Considering that only half the people I tell this to end up doing well, I just want you to be aware.

You have to be willing to put in effort at uni. This means that if doing a subject which is just a repeat of one you did in VCE is going to lead to you not doing work for it, it doesn't matter that you know the stuff - you'll still do poorly. However, if you pick the "harder" subject, and hence end up putting in more effort for it, you will do better.
yeah I guess this is the case with even VCE subjects Re: Further Vs Spec  :D

Yeah thinking about grad med but still not 100% sure. Totally logical imo (was thinking the exact same) but making it easier for me in year 1 is just gonna screw me over in year 3 when i'm looking for level 3 electives.

I was looking at MTH2032 and it says corequisite is 2010 does this mean I must do those subjects at the same time or can i do 2010 in year 1 and 2032 a year later?

Can't you just do MTH1020/35 in year 1 then 2010/32 in year 2 and then do level 3 in year 3? If you think you can handle skipping a lot of year 1 units then go for it. But I personally wouldn't, just because you may have found vce maths easy, uni maths is a big step up and so I would be very wary. Especially as to get into grad med you want to have the best gpa possible and so by picking subjects that may be too hard for you might not be the way to go just yet.
As with your second question, yes it means that you have to either of studied 2010 before of at the same time as 2032 in order to do 2032. Rather like methods is a corequisite for spec.
2015- Methods (46)
2016- Spec (42), Chem (43), Bio (41), Eng Lang (36), MUEP Maths (4.5) ATAR: 99.25
2017- Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Monash
Message me if you're interested in tutoring 😊

Yeah i can do that but I have already done 2 MUEP units. Chemistry I & II which I already scored decently. Which i was hoping to credit in yr 2 to reduce my load and have more time for my biomed cores.

I honestly don't think doing MTH1030 in sem 1 is that big of a step up from VCE math. Sure it may still be difficult, but I wouldn't let it stop you from taking it. The only reason I could see for taking MTH1020 the ability to maybe score higher, and Euler already talked about that anyway.

Just a couple other things, MTH1035 only runs in semester 1. This also means that MTH2015 only runs in semester 2 and MTH2025 only runs in semester 1, if you plan on taking those versions of the units. Also, personally I think the lecturer for MTH1030 is better in semester 1 than the lecturers you get in semester 2.

Also, you're very hung up on taking chem or maths during third year by the sounds of it? You can use biology units as electives - such as biochem, physiology, developmental bio, immunology, etc. - and usually pre-reqs are covered by your biomed cores. You might want to double check this - the alternative is just skipping straight to second year chem and doing third year stuff later? Like, it doesn't matter when you do units - it doesn't HAVE to be second years in second year, third years in third year - I know one person who has done a unit from ever year level in every year.

Yeah kinda sounds like that lol. I am just trying to make sure that those options are actually available for me by 3rd year.Yeah heaps of bio units should be available for me in year 3 too.

He should be alright for math though as there isn't really a big jump from VCE Specialist to a first year math subject. Its not like someone who has completed Methods and Specialist need to study and master a whole new line of thinking within 12 weeks. Math just keeps building on previous knowledge.

Also, people doing Biomed are usually trying to maximise their WAM and GPA, so the whole not working because its easy may not apply here.
